Best and The Worst of the Season

Recommended Posts

I know you may think this is premature but in a way a win (or lose) on Saturday against Hampton will be a nice touch but not the best high light (or the worst moment) despite what their supporters do to party the last game away...

So come on, the season is almost over and apart from all the bickering about the move to Basildon, finance's, losing players and the such (please, lets keep this link pure football), what is the best and worst memory of this season?

For me, beating Braintree in the FA cup rates about as good as this season has got. Okay, beating Canvey is up there at no 2 but early in the season we were hopeful...

The worst has got to be the Havent game(s)...the beginning of our winter of discontent. From disapointment on the football pitch came the sniping, gossiping and romours...

And then a break and on to next season. Lets get some energy back into the club and stop all this bickering between us. No matter who you are or what your view is it is our club, so lets help prepare for a better season 2003/2004!!!

Come on you Blues!!!

Highlights were the trio of wins against Braintree (4-0), Grays (4-1) and Canvey (2-1). Also the win against Maidenhead although it wasn't a classic, I was so chuffed for the lads that had kept at it through a difficult run of games.

Other highlights were the number of good away trips by coach or minibus, can't remember a recent season with so many trips.... (Can't remember some of this season's trips either but that's a different story <img src="/forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" /> ). Well done to Andy (The Bus Conductor) Turner for organising them.

Best has to be Canvey. For everything that has happened to us this season, to turn round and win 2-1 was in the words of David Coleman, "quite remarkable". Worst, Havent a Clueville and nor did we! Been a season of few 'incidents' as well, but Havant takes the prize there. Three meat wagons and a dog unit was a bit over the top I think! Hampton was quite funny as well as the 'Beavers' tannoy announcer tried to have me evicted from the ground! Roll on next season.

Best were away at Boreham - so much hope for the new season after such a convincing win and for lee williams goal. Canyvey 2-1 for obvious reason. Grays 4-1 as we stuffed someone.

Worst - havant obviously but also the averly game. Lets not forget this was a cup semi final where we badly underperformed. had we won this cup the season would never have looked half as bad

best pitch i have seen this season was befords a few weeks ago.

Worst was that cabbage patch grays play on.

Thought Stortford had a great little ground but I will never never understand how that dive on that island is conference graded.

Didnt see as many games as I would normally do, but best for me was the stunnning display against bedford at home so early in the season, and the worst was easily the Aveley cup semi-final which was the reason I didnt go to any more games afterwards until Hampton at the end. 120 mins of below freezing temps, throwing away a one-goal lead, then thumping two of our first three pens out of the ground left me with no further desire to pay ten pounds a time to depress myself...
