Benches

Recommended Posts

So didn't we all moan about the rule on Benches in the CCL last year. Moan, moan, moan. So around came the AGM and you secretaries got the rule changed. Oh no they didnt. So the rule is excatly as last year. No one standing and one can get up, deliver their instructions and then sit down again. That is a rule that the clubs could have got changed but didnt. SO managers when you get reported this year have a pop at your secretaries and not the Officials smile

Don't re-call the bench rule being heavily enforced last year, Kroons.

Young TW could get quite animated at times.

Not fully in touch at the moment due to house renovations.

I did see Stan the Man this morning, who said as far he was aware it was ON, but HE was on holiday, and was going AWAY for the day and hoped that SOMEONE had remembered to mark the pitch !

Me ? After a day of electric on/electric off. Banging, (not that sort), sawing, west indian swearing, I'm orf for a few pints and a take away curry !

Bring back the Poles. At least I couldn't understand their profanities !

Well I wandered past Meadowbank at 8ish and it was in full swing - was a 7.30 KO apparently. I thought of going in to have a look but Collins senior was guarding the gate and no way was I going to get my wallet out having missed 30 mins!! (tight I know!). Anyway had a watch through the hole in the fence for 5 mins or so and the Chicks even obliged by scoring! Recognised one or two faces from last year too...

Pitch looked quite brown in places but i've sure seen it look worse....

Bring on the Frimley!!

The centre area seems to be taking a lot longer to recuperate after close-season work.

Any one know the final score ? After a fraught day at home, I just couldn't face it. Still 10 days of banging and screwing to go

Grrrrrrrr !!!!

Only one person at a time has the authority to convey technical instructions to the palyers during the match. This person shall be the team manager or the team coach. He is allowed to move to the edge of the technical area to issue instructions to his team but then must return to his position on the bench immediately after giving these instructions.

8.22.5

With the exception of the team manager, the team coach and any substitutes who are warming up or warming down, all other personnel are to remain seated on the trainers bench. The team manager or team coach is allowed to move to the edge of the technical area to issue instructions to his team, but must then return to the trainers bench

this is implemented at the wim of an official, that often has taken a dislike to one of the teams. to show what power he has.he misses a push here, an offside there.that even more stirs up the bench. but the man in black still has this power. respect is a 2 way thing, and there are many officials that think, because they are dressed in black, they can get away with things, that on the street would be another story.

And of course players think they are duty bound to abuse the man in black purely because he is in black. And of course players don't do things that on the street would be another story.
