If Beveney was born in Guyana then he should stay in Guyana and play his football in Guyana, not come to England and put an English lad out of his team.I thought we wanted local lads to be given a chance, lads who will show passion and commitment to their club.

The difference being Ian is that Wilson came over here as a child, not played for his national team like Beveney.

Though I must say I believe a player should be allowed to ply his trade anywhere but if we do have a home grown player as good then I would still play him first.

Nor me CE. Is it now a case that we can only use local youngsters? From what I have read about Beveney he looks like he could be useful which is why I mentioned it. Was there any need for a post that was really no more than a 'f*** off home' type of statement that I thought we had seen the last of.
Very little wonder that this forum is getting used less and less with such primitive comments.

No the reason that it gets used less and less is of comments like yours. If someone disagrees with certain people on here they get lambasted into oblivion by certain people on here.

It is for this reason that I no longer post my views on here (not that they are worth that much anyway) only for certain people to come out with moronic inane comments like those above.

What really winds me up is the people who go on about freedom of speech and then they are the first ones to criticise someones views.

Why I may not agree wit acdc's comments I do think that he has the right to air them. Likewise while I find a certain individual from the other side a total biggoted racist twat I will defend his right to post on here.

More open debate is to be encouraged and not discouraged even if you totally disagree with thier opinions. After all it was the fans of this club who want local players to be used or are we always only going to employ those from the 'Political Correct' areas.

I must admit I did gasp when reading that.

I don't think where someone was born should ever come into it...however I do see the point ACDC was trying to make, maybe it wasn't worded all that well.

This is surely the kind of thing Ashby was on about that the meeting sometime ago...someone should certainly have a word if this lad is something special. He certainly won't bite your head off...unless you happen to be a referee that is, best leave this one to someone else Cookie. grin

I am not the most politically correct person in the world Joseba but to be personally honest I do not see any reason to have made the coments about his nationality, simply as all I was doing was pointing out a potentially good player for an upcoming opponent.

If the forum is quieter because of my comments then so be it....but my opinion is that, at times, the free speech rule is taken advantage of needlessly in some cases.

Where was it ever mentioned that this guy was going to stop the local policy that the club has adopted? Where was it ever mentioned that he was even possibly coming to Margate?

All I mentioned was that he was going to be featuring for our opponents on Sunday and looked as though he may be good. Suddenly he is a threat to our young players and should not be in the country. I really cannot work out the logic there.

Ok back to original thread, I hope Deano gets a good reception from the crowd and I, for one, will be pleased to see him back as long as his new team don't beat us grin

GOOD PLAYER LET GO FOR ALL THE WRONG REASONS. But now he plays for the opposition perhaps we should goad him, he'll be sent off within the first five minutes ('cos he never did learn) an' then we can play against ten men and possibly get three points. Cynical I know but winning is important.

have'nt got a clue ;but hope not;and as per most of the posts i simply hope that you lucky local guys see a good test for margate on saturday and that all players are treated with respect-particulrly Dean who did alot for MFC and is a good player.

It will be interesting to compare the abilities our new midfield dynamo's of Wilson and Stubbs with the likes of Dean.Early signs are they may not be too far short and for me-really work well as a pair
