Fleet 5-0 Maidstone

Gash 2

Long 3

Gash, Akinde, Shakes, Purcell, Long and Appiah all looked dangerous and capable on the attack; albeit against inferior opposition, we aren't looking short of goalscorers and creators.

Roll on Saturday!

1st half let's forget about it, was a poor and boring half.

Stacy with the 1st goal.

2nd half and i think Liam kicked them up the backside at half time and was much better half.

Gashy scored a awesome 2nd goal turned and hit it on his left foot about 20 yards out.

Appiah looked really good and he could be the new John Akinde next season if he is given his chance.

Stacy scored 2 more goals, his hat-trick coming from the penalty spot after Appiah was taken down in the area.

Sitting in the seats with Slatter and Moore who were rested was Kezie Ibe so maybe he has signed!!

Dean Pooley played well at right back too.

Jamie Hand came on and played the last 10 minutes or so, think it might be too little too late for him.

Bye bye Efe though!

I have to agree Mike. First half relegation football. Second half different team. Paul Mac I feel, made a big impact.

Incidentely I had a word with a Stones supporter behind me about his swearing, with a young family present (not mine I might add) in front of me it wasn't pleasent. Mind you he did have the good grace to apologise. All credit to him, it didn't happen again. The young steward standing under the gantry must have heard him but didn't make a move.

I don't know if it was a silent protest (0 tolerance) by the Plough End boys first half as the place was a bit like a morgue but then again there wasn't much to cheer. I guess it was, because when in the second half the goals flowed, they found their voice but gave the game away with a few rounds of 'we're not singing....we're not singing....we're not singing any more....' which made me smile.

No swearing though.

Was Scott there? I missed the drum in the first half.

There were a few Belgian lads sat next to us. They were at Bristol City vs Antwerp yesterday. They might have been swearing their heads off for all I know.

Mike sums it all up pretty well I think.

Usually, I am a bit of a pessimist but I am feeling noisily confident this evening.
