Couldn't get to the match tonight

It finished Ebbsfleet 1-2 Millwall.

To be fair to our lads I thought we dominated large parts of the game and did not look out of our deptht at all. Although saying this i don't follow Millwall at all so have no idea how strong the team they put out was??

All in all good game!

We played well tonight after a bad start to the match, Millwall brought a full 1st team down as far as i know and we did really well against them.

Pooley came on tonight and looked really good at the back, he has signed we were awaiting the work permit.

Kezie Ibe didnt play at all tonight, dont know if he has signed or not

Josh Simpson still has appeared so don't know if he is in or not.

Big Michael Gash played well, i think theres alot of work that has to be put into him to get him match-fit etc but he played well. The linkup play between him and mooro was good in the 1st half.

As for Ricky Shakes he is fast bloody fast, and had a good bit of banter going with the halfway liners too!!

Nice to see big John back upfront in the 2nd half, Bazza took his goal well.

Attendance for anyone's info was 1,671.

Trailest:

Jamie Hand was on loan last season at Oxford from Lincoln City.

Jake Richardson was it this guy form sunderland:

Dean Pooley who isn't a trailest has signed but have been awaiting his work permit from Ireland.

No Efe so maybe he has gone and no Kezie Ibe either!

Despite what Mike says Dean Pooley did come on and has signed but we're awaiting his work permit from Irelnad.

Sorry Mike, couldn't resist. smile

Thanks for the info, some things there that even I didn't know and I was at the game!!

I'm off to find out about this guy from Lincoln, heard he can be quite handy.

Michael Bostwick was watching from the stands.

I thought we played well too - apart from gifting them their 2nd goal with a header back (by Neil Barrett?) into the danger area from an innocuous position. Unlucky not to score a 2nd ourselves, especially with that crazy pinball in the penalty area at the Plough End near the finish.

For my first pre season of the season i was very impressed with majority of the players Shakes, Stone and when pooley came on he looked a very good signings for us. Smudge and darius were solid and totally agree about gash, once he has had full time training and builds on his fitness, hopefully he will live up to his potential. We still either need a striker or 2 to boost our chances into goals.

Thank god for these new Alzheimers pills!

If only we can keep Akinde, his pace, with Shakes will scare most defences to death.

Stone and Barratt again linked really well which augers well, and I was very impressed with Pooley, who looked to have time on the ball and a good awareness of those around him. Didn't appear too scared about pressing forward either, putting in a good cross when he linked up with Shakes.

Not sure how he will fit in with both Hawkins and Ricketts , but looks a valuable addition.

Things is looking good.

And no swearing from behind the goal.

Well done to the stewards.

It was Stone's mistake for the 2nd goal and he suffered the "hair drying effect" from Jamie Smith afterwards..... I almost felt sorry for him!

Good game which finished with more positives than negatives.

I think we have to give Michael Gash some time to settle and I would have liked to see that "Ibe" bloke again as he looked quality.

But Shakes is looking like a really good prospect

Good to hear. I did have to deal with a couple of upset fans after the match. They were evicted after being pointed out by the police and it seems it was a case of mistaken identity. They were let back in. The other objection was about having "police cameras stuck into our faces". I can understand the issue but we have to be forceful in dealing with this element. I hope the majority of fans will bear with us on this.

Radio Kent should be featuring something about the zero-tolerance policy tomorrow (Saturday) on their news broadcasts. It will take a little while before we can enforce it completely efficiently, but that is the target.

And on the reason we're all here (well most of us :-)), a really good game. We didn't look out of our depth at all. I just hate the fact I can't focus fully on it any more, having to "work" at the same time :-(

The Police certainly were out and about with their cameras but they seemed to be more interested in the Millwall fans than us.

It was a good atmosphere behind the goal last night.

A draw would have been a good result but hey ho. I am liking the way we are playing this pre-season. Long was very good when he came on.

I saw one guy arguing with stewards at half time outside the bar. When he got aggressive, his mate gave him a tap on the face & pulled him away. There did seem to be about a dozen blokes in their 30s to 50s who were pretty drunk, people I've never seen before. And this isn't a teetotaller being judgemental, I always have at least 3 pints during the course of a match day/evening.

The 2 policemen with cameras looked as if they could handle any nonsense; nobody who is just there to watch the game should be objecting to their presence.

I thought we played very well last night and contributed to a very entertaining game. On balance we probably had the majority of the game but they had some very swift and skillful players and were allways a danger on the break. Aparently they had about 8 first team players out there.

Thought Charles and Smudger were the picks for me and Stone wasn't far behind and Shakes looks more than useful with his pace. It was good to see us playing through the midfield and out wide rather than hoofing straight balls forward. Gash did win a fair percentage of those balls in the air and prodcued some useful flicks. Didn't see too much of him with the ball at his feet but he did try a skillfill chip/shot with the outside of his boot in the second half that just went over. Agree he looks as though he lacks a bit of fitness. Rest of the team all played well and no real disappointments and I am sure Liam, despite the result, will be happy with the performance.

Attendance was OK but credit to Millwall for bringing down as many as they did. Didn't see any trouble but there were a few Millwall fans who came in the home entrance, not sure you can legislate for that other than move them when it becomes apparent.

...I think the guys moved on at halftime were Millwall fans but they came back in the seciond half but caused no problems at all.

As to the swearing it was much better but with all the singing (really top support I thought) it would have been masked anyway.

The real test will be on a Tuesday night with 800 or so in the ground when every word can be heard and when the "security" presence is not so obvious.

A good start though although I dread to think how much it cost!

As to the match I thought the first half was superb and if it had been a league match would have been gutted to lose after such a good peformance.

Cost? Not a lot. And once we get it all under control and require less police presence, we will actually make a profit on the deal. I think it's called a "win-win"!

Can't wait for us to produce that sort of performance on the field in a league match - hopefully Mansfield will be in for a shock...

i would like to make a point about the swearing behind the goal just to say that you people always pick the same faces to have a dig at, we all behaved last night , because we want to stay watching the fleet.there was swearing and trouble last night but the swearing came from a woman in a west ham shirt ,and the scuffle was between so called i.c.f and millwall fans . just to say i am a true fleet fan and do not want to get barred the odd word might slip out but please dont judge us as u do not know us
