Great Wakering Rovers v. Billericay Twitter update

Recommended Posts

Looks like it's been a goal fest, with them coming in pairs.

I see we have a Burbridge on our bench.

2-4 latest, Flack, Ferguson, Shave (2)

If the pattern repeats itself, there should be another in a couple of minutes.

Our 5th friendly and things are shaping up...up front. Our pace in attack is something which I don't believe many in our league will live with. Good performances from Flackie (getting sharper), Ferguson, Wareham and BWG (man of the match for me). Burbs did well when he came on and looks to give us another option up front (is he now with us?).

But...

...what was worrying was our defence. The starting back four may well be the "settled" back four for the campaign ahead and okay, after going 2 zip up, the team hit the "snooze" button (we've been here before) and took the collective foot off the accelerator but to ship three goals in (how the hell did the last one go in?) against Great Wakering does give some cause for concern. When it counts, our opponents will be less forgiving that GWR...The "stingy" Billericay defence of the first three games appears to have become less so. I would imagine it's a blip and we do have the games to play to get back on track.

Then again...perhaps our methodology will be to attack, attack, attack (they say it's the best form of defence).

It's only a freindly and even though there is some cause for concern, we do have the games to put this right.

One mention about Paul Shave. Scored two goals and was denied a third by two posts (how the hell did that one keep out?).

Tonight it'll be Burnham Ramblers turn to entertain and I would believe we'll see quite a few trialists playing for a club spot. See ya there.

I suppose so. He was talking to Jason & Grant after the Dulwich game and turning up last night you, would think so.

My take on these things is, when a player comes in (or back), and has talks, it's private. I know we all want to know but you never know the circumstances. And a little space shows a little respect whilst terms are discussed, deals cut.

Other people have a different take on this but that's mine.

All will be revealed in time.

Now i am totally puzzled. I know Burbs has been with the team watching from behind the barrier at prior friendlies but i assumed it was just cos he was spending time with his old mates.

Burbs move to Enfield was reported in the press as a "done deal". But there has been no mention of it on their official site and as far as I can see he's played no part in their friendlys, so far.

Maybe the papers were a bit "previous" in their reporting. Wouldn't be the 1st time.

That will be those bloody Gnat's Gazza.

Thought BWG was IMMENSE again and Shave proved me right with his goals.

Well worth a night away from rowing. (but for the bloody gnat's)
