Why do so many players go on holiday now during pre-season? Is it a clever way of avoiding training and PSFs or a way to sniff about for interest for other clubs without being around and having to commit?

Maybe, or the fact that so many have families etc and this is the most popular time to go on your summer holidays?!?!

yes, they should go on holiday during the football season, to ensure they make pre-season training

Was kinda thinking the same thing although maybe looking at it from a different angle. Is it because pre-season is starting earlier and earlier. So if you can't fit a holiday in the month off between seasons, the attitude could be well i'm gonna miss some pre-season does it matter when?? And of course their missing games where points are not at stake. Definantly more players on holiday though.

It certainly felt like there was hardly any gap between the end of the season of pre season training. Barely 7 weeks.
