Maybe you have done exactly that EDV- another two footed tackle ?

 

Where on this thread has anyone specifically 'called' for extra money for experienced signings ?

 

Interesting how we all read and subsequently interpret others posts differently

Generally I agree with EDV.

 

The manager and others have been given the job and it can only be assumed that at the start everyone knew where they were and that those actually responsible for the footballing side have knowledge, experience and above all a game plan.

 

For us to get wound up at this stage of the season because we are not playing teams above us in PSFs is pointless - it would be far worse if we were playing teams below us and getting beaten surely? I would have thought anyway that the management team would, in line with a game plan, know the capabilities of the players required to do the job. Whether they can get them of course is another thing.

 

The best thing that we can do at present is to do whatever we can to ensure that there is a real interest in Margate FC at a local level and to get decent crowds to support us at Hartsdown. Easier said than done perhaps.

 

Perhaps we all ought to be writing to the Isle of Thanet Gazette in that respect as it would do far more good than debating matters on here.

I don't think the club are going to be wound up because we play a senior club Drummer. Its all about seeing where we are, thats all.

Margateshot - as I type this it is midnight so I am probably missing something with your response, at least as far as the "wound up" bit is concerned, although I understand your point about seeing where we are.

 

My "wound up" refers to individuals being wound up with frustrations etc as to the uncertainty of the team for the forthcoming season, not the winding up of the club.

 

I have felt for quite some time that we were approaching a "knock it down and start again" situation. Given the uncertainties and disappointments of the last two seasons, constant talk of budget cuts, when is the ground going to be finished, who will be our sponsor, players leaving, all in all it has seemed to me for some time that this has been inevitable.

 

It is certainly not like the old days when the management released the retained list at the end of the season and perhaps just added one or two new names to that list at the start of the new season. And had a pre-season game against the reserves!

 

What will happen this season is anyone's guess but I believe that we have got to give those in charge some time to get things going.

 

Obviously the proof of the pudding will be in the eating.
