Two matches, great burgers, lovely weather, cracking barmaids, two wins, lots of beer and Mrs MOB drove home.

 

 

Clacton away in August I reckon it should come on prescription, roll on next time, such nice people and what a nice day!

Agreed, an absolutely brilliant day!

 

We arrived on the train at 10.30, went for the biggest fry up I've had in many a year, and then ventured down to the seafront to meet the 60 or so other Canvey fans down there, which seemed to be more and more as the day drew on!

 

A few Jagermeister & Red Bull's later in the scorching heat (as well as 14 dodgem cars all attacking David Powell on cue!), it was onto the ground.

 

The Ressies had already won, and the coach to the ground was a great mix of singing and abusing Tommy Liddle!

 

At the game, Canvey turned out a good performance and were well worth the win. And as for the Clacton barmaid..............

 

As for FC Clacton, a more hosptiable and friendly club I don't think you will find. I for one certainly hope this is an annual fixture, and for the past two seasons it has been a great day for the club.

How did we line-up yesterday, 4-4-2 or 4-5-1? Judging from the final XI, did we finish on 3-5-2?

Started with the new 4-5-1 and saw that through to the end as far as I can remember, with Dobbo dropping back into defence for the second half.

Think we might have reverted to 4-4-2 when Kieran English came on for Steve Corbell in the last 30 minutes.

 

English and Luck up front with Gab moving out to the left wing.
