Whatever claims are made about team line-ups, 4-2 is a damn sight better than 8-0. At least we weren't leaving the game feeling utterly ashamed and embarrassed. A grisly 15 minutes cost us on Saturday. Last season it was the enire 90.

I was ebarrased at the state of your socks, looked as if they were 3 seasons old, come Ants stick your hand in your pocket buy the res some new socks, not hand downs from the 1st team. smile

Now now groynestrain.
Are you sure that concord put out a side quite like the one in the game you refer to. I think not. You know better yhan that my friend. Any how all this is Bo**ox. What matters is how any team do in competitive matches. Weather it was basildons or concords first, second or under nines, this result means nothing. If Basildon win 3 of the first 5 then who will care about which team was what, likewise if they lose the first 5. No one can judge anyone else until the season starts. The start Basildon have with the fixtures have been kind and maybe these games will be the making or breaking of them. Good luck to them and a good start may put humble pie on the menu for many of us.

As you know, I've always defended you, in both the results you achieved with such ridiculously scarce resources last season and the disgusting way you were treated at the end of the season.

I did, however, after putting in the proviso that whatever the teams are, or were, or what they represented, at Thames Road feel it was an embarrassing afternoon for everyone connected with Basildon United back in February, whereas last Saturday our dignity was retained (well, until Wino showed us his appendix scar anyway). I do believe there is a comparison as the difference was certainly noticeable.

Are you really comparing the concord team basildon played saturday to the champions elect side that our depleated side played. I have no reason not to believe that the bas side wasn't full strenghth but please dont expect me to believe that the concord side were of simular quality to those of that day. I wonder what the score would have been if that side had played basildon saturday.

Rookie in all honesty with the side I had out saturday it would proberly been a similar result, dont bite mate,we all know you did the best you could with what was avaliable to you,and I have yet to hear anyone say a bad word about your efforts and what you had to deal with.Good luck and you will always be made welcome at the Hive by me and my staff if you ever decide to come along to watch a game.
