Instead of slagging off MyFC, the most sensible thing legacy EUFC fans could be doing is trying to line up someone (be it a consortium of EUFC supporters, a sugar daddy, or a company like Eurostar - my suggested best option) to take over EUFC when MyFC pull out in March. Or is that too much like hard work? Complaining is easy enough, complaining about people who are doing the things you yourself can't be arsed is hippocracy of the first order. This isn't directed at all legacy suporters by any means, but those who it is directed at hopefully know who they are. I agree with what you say about the complaining, but I think our time would be better spent looking for ways to increase renewals and getting new people to join. I know and appreciate that existing members aren't getting what they signed on for, or getting to do what they hoped they would be doing, but I think that process will have to be gradual. The idea that anyone with no real experience could come in and take over a football team and have it running the way expected in under 6 months is folly. It could take a year or two, at least a full season. This issue with the match price tickets recently is a case in point. The ball was dropped and mistakes were made, but instead of everybody kicking off about it, all that needed to be said was, OK, next year we put it in the calendar for so and so date. Easy. The problem is that too many people want everything just right straight away and those that aren't happy are gonna leave. Which is a shame. Darter
oh and re. the swearing - Stonebridge Road is now a zero tolerance zone, I understand, according to the latest from the CEO? I believe that was as a direct result of the Charlton game. I am sorry about that, as I personally believe that people should be able to express themselves forcefully at football matches ... I know about the kids and families argument, and I appreciate we need to encourage families into football but that could surely be dealt with by having half of the seated area reserved for them - and the terraces reserved for those who like to say what they feel like saying ... rsheard
Surely (Shirley) there's a difference between expressing oneself forcefully in the heat of the battle and the kind of fan with a vocabulary of 3 words who is offensive to everyone forced to listen? I think the no-tolerance is of the latter, not the former. But I wasn't there, so I'm just basing this on the reports made here by those who were. chris blanc
The impression I got from the Zero Tolerance was that it wasn't to be zero tolerance at all, just aiming the worst abusers.
Uncle Urchin
zero tolerance is zero tolerance chris or else its not.. PTT is PTT or else its not.. sal is right about the paranoia at moonie HQ which will pick off the members more so than no PTT.. clowntown has always made sense to me I have to admit...its just a question of being neutral.. I don't like abuse at football matches and we stamp on it if it ever (rarely happens) but I do swear and so do the other 500 urchins who stand with me...its a footie thing if carslberg made football clubs... Darter
There will be off-topic revolution soon on MyFC. I can't believe it, it has astonished me today. chris blanc
I don't think it will change anything much. It's pretty unenforceable. I can see the idiots who shout out racist, homophobic or continually real bad words (the 'C' word!!!! ) being dealt with, but no one else. I believe they are looking at implementing a family only area as well, which will help with the issue, apart from all the little kids that swear, they're the worst lol

Lol, no worries - sounds good to me singram is actually Arithon's little helper, I believe, as well as Brooks's. And on MyFC, we have started a private group where we can really let rip ... oh, it makes me feel so good ...

chris blanc
In my days as a Classroom assistant, I was once called a c**t by a 6 year old. I was too shocked to do anything about it for a bit. He was probably right though....

Darter
Jeff, it was the off-topic Board thread ... closed I think because singram took offence to comments made on there. So instead of deleting the few comments, they took the opportunity to close the whole thread. SO that means if anyone posts any insults on any thread from now on, it'll have to be closed .... surely ... ??

chris blanc
From the thread itself: It's been a while since I've ventured in here but after receiving a complaint and only looking at the last couple of pages of posts, I can see that forum rules have been broken, notably that of: Section B - Rules: Mandatory Terms and Conditions Members must not post threatening, menacing or abusive material, or cause annoyance or inconvenience or needless anxiety in their postings. Section C : Netiquette Constructive criticism is welcome, but insults directed towards other members will not be tolerated. Off topic is still governed by the rules and as there are too many posts to edit, I've therefore closed this thread. The thread hasn't been removed and can be read here if you're a member (hopefully, all I'm doing is pasting the link): http://members.myfootballclub.co.uk//21_287001_183.html The stuff written that offended wasn't just aimed at Singram and it wasn't singram who made the complaint. Jeff
So he complained about you then. Hence the removal of the thread? You have been far worse in the past. The post about Leyton springs to mind in particular. That was out of order to be fair.
