Could you ask fans Questions at Mansfield game ?

Recommended Posts

There is going to be a questionaire for fans attending the Mansfield Town game on August 9th. This is something being put together by Jessica, Arithon and David Davis.

Could you help by asking fans some questions and recording the replies ?

To quote Jessica,

"We are looking for volunteers who are planning to go to the match to ask the questions of fans going to the match. Your help on this will be much appreciated. please email david@eufc.co.uk if you are able to help. We anticipate that we can ask people to complete the short questionnaire as they enter the ground. I'm so tired, I couldn't actually determine if it was a serious post assuming I really was a politician (Yes, we did get that on the MyFC forum!) or a joke.

We could really do with some volunteers though please. I know it all really boils down to how the team perform, but anything else we can do to make it a better experience will help in our efforts to get new people through the gates.

And I know from years of experience in the customer service field that it is dangerous to assume you know what the customer wants. It is easy to take your own expectations and translate that to mean it must be what everyone wants.

For example, I'm not a big fan of the type of food served, so my assumption would be that we need to change it. The Saturday morning of the Charlton match we had a couple of youngsters in to sign up for Junior Fleet tickets. So as usual I took the opportunity of sounding them out. "Apart from the football, what is the best thing about coming to Stonebridge Road?" (Cue all your witty comments here...)

The answer? "The chips with curry sauce!"

It takes all sorts.

The survey is the first pass at finding out what the priorities for change are, based on a representative sample of the fans.

Hi Paul, yes I'll be at Bromley.

I've drafted up a set of questions, which are at the moment with a MyFC member who works for Mori, in case he can add a different slant to it.

The focus is to be on quality, with a little data harvesting added. Scoring questions for easy analysis and on this first pass only aimed at our own fans:

How would you score the following out of 10:

Experience getting ticket

Stewards

Stands/Terracing

Club Bar

Toilet facilities

Food

Tannoy information

Club shop

Overall experience

Then a couple of freestyle questions that will possibly need more analysis:

What town do you live in?

Did you get to the ground by road/rail/on foot

Age range:

Under 16, 16-25, 25-40, 41-55, 56-65, Over 65

What do you like best about coming to the ground?

Worst thing?

How could we encourage more people to attend?

Email address?

If on email "Would you like us to send you a copy of the results?"

Based on the results, we might need a second pass to focus in on the detail for a particular area.

People filling them in and posting back an option ? Inserted in some of the programmes ?

Maybe you can ask the turnstile operators to hand them out. That way practically everyone would get one.
