I think it is Canterbury City's first team. Last season there were two evenly matched and enjoyable friendlies. The players appreciated playing in a game where they were not going to be kicked in the air everytime they went for the ball and both sides trying to play decent football. I think this is a compliment not only to the players but also to both teams' managers and coaches. It should be an attractive game to watch.

Should be a good game as you say.

Is this the third 'official' reserve friendly ?

Think it is; which is quite 'organised preparation' it seems to me-If my fading memory serves me right, this time last year we had played either none or one reserve friendly-think it was none-so if nothing else-we seem to be even better organised in the reserve department this season.

Would be good to see the reserves at top of league one-and no reason why they can't .(don't think they can get promoted though even if they finish first )

He is very happy playing with Canterbury City where there is an excellent team spirit both on the pitch and throughout the club as a whole. A successful club winning trophies carries its own momentum forward. For some money is not the incentive.

I think our players worked hard and ran themselves into the ground (as always) but lacked a finish, but I would say that. The second half was much better with a couple of chances. There were some lovely touches, JM always looks good on the ball, but also some wayward passing which I expect was down to unfamiliarity with each other. 50/50 game really.

Margate have got a very good group of young players(both yesterday's reserves and those in the first team). It would be good to see them develop into a formidable team which will stay together for many seasons and be successful. Over the last few years there has been little continuity in keeping players at the end of the season in order to build and continually improve the first team. If there is a genuine long term commitment to persevere with the young players I am sure that within a few seasons there will be a formidable team built on solid foundations. Ultimately it depends upon those who own the club which is a private limited company.
