Am sure it was discussed to death here many times - It has to be offered to a 'similar' kind of trust, but this doesn't HAVE to be the original Fleet Trust.
Thats my understanding anyhoo...

A third choice could be that the Trust must maximise the revenue gained from the disposal of the club in order that Trust funds are maximised for future use, therefore the club would need to be sold to the highest bidder.

Those who believe in MyFC & its ability to transform the club will need to work hard to see renewals come in. Those who want it all to come crashing down will have to wait & see.

Next February we will know. Until then, roll on the start of the season & the end of the creation of stories from dead & never alive stories.

yes keith but sadly you are a minority amongst fluttering wayward butterflies....

I don't think the membership will fall below the 15k first time out but if it does beware....the operator can then sell the club to the highest bidder and there will not be one.....

well... maybe one...grin

Actually, Uncs, that's not true. The operator has no power to sell the club at all. The only thing the operator can opt to do if the membership falls below 15,000 is choose to stay on or walk away from their agreement with the society.

Whatever members remain still have decision power whether to continue or try to sell the club. I believe the previous owners have first right of refusal should MyFC decide to sell. If a sale should take place, the proceeds must go to a charity to be determined later.

As Keith said, the only plan that makes any sense for the club is for MyFC to keep its membership numbers viable. Once the moaners and groaners leave in February we'll know where we stand as a starting point--not a finishing point.

This has only just begun. The doom and gloom merchants can make all the predictions they like. Even a broken clock is correct twice a day.
