Good work out for what was a bit of a mixture of a team. Number of players weren't involved so Jason and Grant had a good look at some of the triallists. Buckfield and Shave played the 90, Flack started and played just over half an hour. Dorms played 45 minutes at CB, Marron played most of the game at RB and did quite well I thought.

A good work out and as SW said, it gave Jason and Grant a chance to look at the trailists.

 

I thought Marron did very well at right back. Although not his preferred position, he kept it simple and tight and is certainly an option should we need to cover that position in the evnt of injuries (surely, we can't have a season like that last?).

Almost a completely different side to that of Saturday, and standing watching by the tunnel seemed an entire Billericay first team, (think Leon won the best dressed award. Yep, Billy you gotta work on the dress code Anyway, good to see Joe and Bradders hit the target and for them job done after 30 mins. I also thought Marron was comfortable. He has bulked up and seems to have gained a yard. If i am honest, i have not seen too much from the trialists but i (we) have only seen small snippets.

 

Now for the fun part...Jason telling the ref to blow for full time and ref duly acknowledges him and blows up. So it got me thinking, all Jason needs to do during the season is give the ref the nod,wink etc etc and if we are 1-0 up after a minute then Full Time ! Yeah, way to go

Well jl, i have to admit, i agree with you in your past thread to me about Paul Shave, he never got in to the game,i was supprised i thought he would use this game to show what he can do but it never happened? i wonder now if he will get a first team place, or move on?

I took some photos at the match yesterday and they seem to contradict your assessment Blue fan - Paul Shave was in most of them, seemingly very much in the game!

jl I found it. We already have a player that is capable of most things on here thats been mentioned, with a little more training in all departments Paul Shave is our man.

BF, I think it a little unfair to keep on about this.

 

Paul Shave is a Billericay player and with that comes a little respect for the man's feelings. Players read this forum as well. If you feel that strongly about him, take your questions to either the manager or the player himself.

Fair comment Gazza, i have stuck up for paul in the past, perhaps its early days yet, i would like nothing more then to see him do well.

Although I can't be arsed to look it up, I believe that thread was specifically related to the centre forward position. I also whole-heartedly concur with Gazza that there is very little benefit to the cause in singling out individuals for criticism and even less in sticking it on here.

are these games not meant to be friendlies? to play players and see how they work out?

 

IMO P Shave as well as being a huge presence on the pitch is also (as proved in the past) a match winner. Go get them Paul.
