Cambridge City have accepted an offer for striker Michael Gash from Blue Square Premier new-boys Kettering Town.

 

Gash, 21, has been interesting a number of sides following City's enforced demotion to the Southern League.

 

The Lilywhites board have confirmed Kettering met their valuation of the player, but personal terms are yet to be agreed.

 

Meanwhile, Cambridge United and Ebbsfleet are still leading the chase to sign midfielder Josh Simpson.

Presumably if LD was interested in him he would make a better offer, but perhaps he'd rather not get involved in a bidding war with another club, after all there are more players out there.

Obviously we are going to have to spend some money sometime.

sounds good though, think Simpson is nearly done but for Gash it could be a bit more work for Liam.

If gash does decide to go to kettering, im pretty sure that liam has a backup plan to bring in another striker either on trial or signs them up from elsewhere. Is there any other new trialists that have joined up with the fleet.

I have heard good things about josh simpson daggers are also after him as well as weymouth and cambridge.

I do believe Efe is a front-runner? I suppose tomorrow will seal his fate!

He has a striker playing tonight, (whose name he won't reveal for obvious reasons)but the player concerned has been having trials with a league club but has now been released.

I have no doubt they could offer him a better deal, unfortunately. Would he be a bit part striker there, though? That alone may swing it in our favour, if Liam can convince him he could get 40 games and 20 goals in the Conference.

Call me crazy but I would still fancy our chances on signing Efe as it is quite possible that Luton are not going to last much longer in the Football League. And who knows but we might just be a league above them next season.
