The Return Of Mcphee

Recommended Posts

What sort of reception do you think he will get when he returns to Stonebridge Road with Weymouth on December 6th? He should get a heroes reception in my opinion, he scored the goal that won us the cup of course and had a great season, his reasons for leaving the club were Family related and not financial reasons and hopefully all the supporters will give him a fantastic reception.

I think Fleet fans are generally appreciative of players that have done good work here (Sodje's reception last season for instance) but scathing of those whose contribution was less (I imagine Drury will get some stick even though he did good and bad in equal measure).

And some players like Liam Hatch, popular as they were, are always going to invite a bit of stick cos they're larger than life.

Whatever, you call us (or them, I forget who the current bad guy is), we're all appreciative of McPhee's effort. History will say that he was one of the heroes of MyFC's first season.

'illustrious' - nice, thank you.

ps I hope he and his family have a good year, but that he doesn't score on Dec 6th.

I'm sure that you are right ianinho, everyone does appreciate Mcphees efforts last season and of course he was indeed One of the heroes of EBBSFLEET UNITEDS Trophy winning season, The fact that it was Myfc's 1st season was nice for myfc members, but the club mean more to Fleet Fans than myfc, I'm glad that some myfc members have started to support the club as a club and not a plaything, but I'm far from convinced that if myfc ever goes t**s up, a majority of myfc members would no longer even look for our results, let alone visit Stonebridge Road, I do say majority, not all! I know that some members have become supporters of Ebbsfleet United as a club and new support is always welcome.

SR I agree completely with your comments. And I share your concerns. However, there were a lot of critics and it actualy hasn't gone too badly. And Chris McPhee was a part of this.

Some of you have been around a while, and some of us are new but we're coming together.

My read is that if MyFC goes t**s up, EUFC will have cleared some debts, gained some new fans, and probably ended up in a better place than it was pre-MyFC. Not perfect, but better. And in the journey we'll all have made new friends and watched some entertaining NL football.

Do keep up with the jargon. :-)

An awful lot of owners came to Wembley to give support to the club, that makes them owners AND supporters which is one up on some others.

Surely you can be owners and supporters?

I cant see that MyFc does or can do any harm to the club, the extra money, support and publicity can only be good.

In my view the name change did more harm than MyFc ever can, I get fed up with people saying where is Ebbsfleet

Whats with all this 'own' nonsense? Ye 'own' nothing. Just 'members' of a nice little Trust.

Which makes the first half of the "Own the club, pick the team" line, about as honest as the second half!

I was only responding to the post that stated they were owners.

Owner or Trust member makes little odds I cant see it can do any harm to the club and they can be trust memebers AND supporters

By the very fact the "trust" members are voting against picking the team each week shows they have the best interest of the club at heart.

I dont think they claimed any success for the trophy win but they did enjoy it the same as the rest of us. They helped with the win in the same way as everyone else, they took a interest in the club and they all coughed up for that pleasure. Still cant see that does any harm

Need to convince more of them (both MyFC and locals) to cough up, and come to home games now!

Totally agree with that. A high number of members live locally and even they dont turn up often.

For those that dont or cant make it to home matches the
