In an effort to get TSF off his high horse I found out from a very well respected ex-ref who works for the F.A. that they are researching the history of many clubs histories and that clubs who have undergone a name change will still be counted as uninterupted history.

As a result some 50 or so Surrey clubs have had their official foundation date ammended. This has meant that many clubs have been deemed to have been founded prior to their listed affiliation date these clubs include Colliers Wood, Fetcham, Ashtead, Bookham, Chessngton and Hook, Leatherhead, Frimley Green, Knaphill etc.

Up and till now Dorking would have been unaware of this. But I'm sure that they will still be proud of their position as 3rd. oldest club in the County and they have still been in existence since 1880.

However this process is still ongoing.

Sadly, I couldn't make it yesterday, though I might be able to creep over next Saturday for the Bookham game before a monumental family wedding reception p1ss-up !

Must be on the part of the site no one can read JR any danger of you cut and pasting it?

2-1 oakwood, mixture of youths triallists, 2 or 3 from last year.

comedy moment first half when oakwood could have scored 5 or 6 times as ball hit post bar keeper everything but the net. rick o'shea tastic.

really training ground stuff, different players, (20 or so) different formations back four, three etc.

There's still plenty of Stella in the line at Meadowbank, though I fear probably past its sell-by-date. Needs to be checked out in the coming days. (makes a mental note to contact bar-manager.)

The reason DFC are playing PSF's at Reigate, and Bookham theirs at Bookham is to allow the pitch to recover from re-seeding and re-turfing.

and at least its got a discussion going, albeit about the messenger not the message.

you are all too happy saying your fat bald tight short ginger and dont want to discuss the more controversial areas.

i dont tell you all to stop your fun, but you tell me to shutup because what I say doesnt interest you.

if so when did they affiliate to the Surrey FA of did they affiliate to the London FA 1st ?? that way they then could have been affiliated to London 1st in 1874 or what ever but only to the Surrey FA in 1881 therefore Dorking being affiliated to the Surrey FA longer smile
