...Dorking Wanderers 3-2 Frimley Green.

So, finally got to visit the Wanderers after all this time and a decent set up it is too. A niggly friendly at times that was evenly contested, Wands (what is their nickname Winnie?) taking the lead after 8 mins, Frimley equalised from a penalty although i'm not sure what it was given for. Dorking's second was the goal of the game, Frimley equalised before h/t. Game was won on 87 minutes when ex Don/Chick James Earp scored via a deflection. Not a bad game and a good result for Wanderers - they have tests against Camberley & Bedfont coming up. Wonder how high they can go in the Sussex County League without lights, although not too many NIMBY's around to moan if they want them I guess. I think there's room for two clubs in Dorking and wish them well.

i saw the chicks at Reigate school playing fields.

a 2-1 win for Oakwood.

first friendly of the year, and it looked like it. Dorking two nil down in first half, made a few changes at half time and during second half that steadied the ship, and dorking scored with a penalty, and had a chance to equalise.

very much a preseason friendly for both sides, Dorking were trying out a few players and will need to get a settled side as soon as they can.

some of last years players there and if Dorking can keep those and add a bit of experience and leadership they should do well.

they desperately need a good start to the season.

in response to TRS about room for two clubs, the problem is there are three and Dorking fc are in the middle.

no nickname to speak of TRS, maybe we should get one! Ok result today i thought against Frimley (Nice to meet some good guys down there)No doubt similar to most clubs at this time with loads of players away, it was nice to be able to play so many youngsters, we have a game against Battersea Ironsides tuesday night..

DFC - Oakwood match report is on the DFC web-site.

Sadly, I couldn't make it yesterday, though I might be able to creep over next Saturday for the Bookham game before a monumental family wedding reception p1ss-up !

Dorking travel to Bookham's Christie Road ground for a friendly on Tuesday night, 7-30pm.

Then a friendly against a Kingstonian X1 on Saturday 26 July at RGS's Hartswood ground in Woodhatch, Reigate, 3pm.

Sorry TSF - you're correct. I mis-read a text message late last night. You know how Saturday nights can be !

Bookham travelled to Brockenhurst on Saturday for their 1st psf and lost 3-2 to a very good home side.

4 new players in the squad and it was a very enjoyable game to watch as both sides played the ball on the park plenty of positive to take from the game and the new players.

Home against Dorking on Tuesday (being played in Bookham) and away to Corinthian Casuals on Thursday before a double header against Leatherhead on Saturday again in Bookham 1pm and 3pm kick offs.

Was looking forward to this but i'll have to miss it due to a resident's meeting frown

We're also playing Walton Casuals on Tuesday, so guess Brown will spilt the squad over the two nights as he did this week, with mainly reserves playing in the second half of each. Although the reserves are away to Ash on Thursday so maybe not!!
