More answers than questions

Recommended Posts

There has been a rash of "ill thought" and "poorly reaserched" questions appearing on this site recently covering:

New shirts

Pre-season games

This years squad

and various other mindnumbing posts.

I shall aim to sumerize the answers to these questions or point the hard of thinking to the correct post / site.

New shirts firstly - yes there are new shirts for this season and the very helpful Sue who can be found in the club shop just inside the gates at Holloway park (Sloughs home ground) will aim to supply you with a shirt of your required size in return for a suitable amount of folding - please help Sue by knowing your shirt size before approaching her - this can be done by looking at the size on the lable of the shirt you are currently wearing - no you need to take it off first before looking - and now write this on your hand in your favouite colour of crayon.

Pre-season games are listed at the top of this forum under "Pre-season 2008/9" you have to click on the words "pre-season 2008/9" and as by magic the dates, the teams we are playing, if it is home or away - (h) means home, and (a) means away - and the time it kicks off - and yes Eton Wick is an early kick off at 6:30 pm (thats in the evening) due to no flood lights at their ground. The very nice Gary T will keep this post up to date for you - look at it before planned games as things change - would not want you turning up to a game that had been canceled would we!

This years squad has been asked about a few times and the source of information for this is the clubs own web site - that is not where you are now as this is the fans forum, a site that is totally independant of the club. The clubs web site is at www.sloughtownfc.net (ask and adult to do this if you are not allowed to enter websites on your own) and this has "news" articles about "new signings" - that is players who are new to the club. There is also "news" on there about players who have "re-signed" - that is last years players who have resigned to play again for Slough Town FC this year. However there is a man called Derek Sweetman who is the manager of Slough Town FC who is still looking at other players to bring into the squad and these will be anounced on the Clubs website, www.sloughtownfc.net - just incase it had slipped your memory, if he signs or resigns any more this will be updated - so look every couple of days (thats when the sun has come up two times) to see what is going on.

I hope this is of help to those who have the skill of being able to post totally random comments and start new threads when there is a perfectly suitable one already open.

Nothing smug about him. Stating the obvious as it needed stating!

Its a great shame that there has been a general

feeling of optimism and free discussion without

fear of the thought police interfering, i was sure it

wasn't going to last.

Makes me glad now that i am not coming back next season.

plonkers!!!
