Young players are the life blood of teams like palace, The big Club should pay a fair price, not just Spurs but Man u, Chelsea,and the following bunch. The Premier League is where every player wants to play so we cant blame them.

Your right Hogsbelly, Dorking, Bookham, Dorking Wanderers have nowhere near the quality of player needed for Ryman which means it is going to be very hard to better last years position of 2nd, maybe the Chairman has lowered his aims, the appointment of 'Rusty' would certainly suggest that, my son plays at one of the previously mentioned clubs and assures me that text messages and calls have been made to 7/8 players (nothing wrong in that) which would mean to me that Guildford clearly are not intending to compete. Personally i think Guildford have made a very poor appointment in Rusty, previous players speak lowly of his abilities, but i guess time will tell, everyone deserves a chance.

Guildford City couldnt keep the two guy management team this season, although there were plans to further develop the ground, a tie up with the university, and a strong 2nd place last year.

 

Did they leave because of a better offer, the ground issues and Woking, or the demise of the reserve side?

 

Was it because they didnt think they could compete at the top this year?

 

Why not? Budgets, players retiring?

 

Would any of these possible reasons put off a more experienced manager, or one from a higher level?

 

This is Rustys first appointment as stand alone manager, and Im sure the chairman will know enough about him. He deserves his chance.

Dont forget where Guildford finished season before last! Who knows what the chairman has set as rustys target?

 

You are a little harsh on the Dorking and Bookham clubs, storm, I think there's a handful of players capable of playing higher, and a few that have. A few more not up to the standard needed at coco prem. Perhaps you know who has been contacted hence your concern for Guildford City FC.

Can i clarify one thing if there has been texts or phone calls going about they are not from me so get the facts correct , i spoke to one player in kevin burgess and he told me he wanted to stay at wanderers and that was it so who have i supposidly contacted ? and as for my abilities as a manager who are you or anyone else to judge ! in my 7 years at Dorking FC we had so many restraints on many issues that i feel one promotion and 2 last 16 of the vase is not bad , look at last year at Dorking FC he had a budget and what happened ? So storm instead of hiding behind a name talk to me face to face or shut up talking c..p !!

rusty,It never matters what fans of other clubs say, they are only looking for weakness' so that their club looks better, the main thing is that we at Guildford City are behind you. Bring on the start of the season.

Have you lost the plot? You denied talking to anyone before!! Anyway! There is no problem talking to players, thats what happens all the time, I suggest you concentrate on trying to get more than 12 players out for a friendly, by the way i am a Guildford fan who works alongside a few Bookham and DW players so didnt understamd the big denials?! last year was an amazing year for us, I dont understand what your remit is? What players have signed/re-signed so far?

Storm you seem to be going from 1 thing to another my remit is to be successful at Guildford as for only 12 players i had 7 unavailable due to work or holidays , and when a manager leaves and the players are in limbo you will not stop other clubs poaching your players , but over the next 2/3 weeks i will be adding more players , i have not made a big denial either just was being honest i had 2 players from wanderers CONTACT ME about coming training but they changed there minds . So Storm if your a supporter show it not critisize !!!!
