Brown Golden Rule Gone Brown

Recommended Posts

For eleven years at each new budget Brown has declared that his golden rule is "the Government will only borrow to finance development and never borrow to finance every day spend" he has boasted for eleven years that the "Golden Rule" has kept us out of boom and bust.

Yesterday they announced they are to change the borrow rules for Government to include general spend as this will avoid unloading extra tax levels

What an absolute failure of a Government:

UU - So Blair, Brown and the rest of them in Westminster are responsible for the world-wide economic problem? If only the UK had that much influence!

I've ignored the 'rape & pillage' line - after Maggie, there was nothing left to R&P!

its not just the economy that is a problem for labour,It is the fact that law and order is a thing of the past, immigration (legal or not) is at an all time high and the fact that we have a prime minister who was not even voted in.

thats just for starters!

Thats not true at all - each successive government seem hell bent on doing a worse job than the previous lot!

They all seem to get to a stage, about 5-7 years in, where everything seems to be ticking along nicely, and they must think, "This government thing is a doddle, lets see what happens if we do X".
We then have 3 or 4 years of back-tracking and cover-up till they get voted out, and they cycle starts all over again...
