Deal 1 Margate 3

Many things impressed me tonight. A tougher test on Saturday no doubt but this evening after the first ten minutes we controlled the game from start to finish. A few who stood out for me were Louis Smith, Nick Treadwell, Curtis Robinson, James Gregory, Kieran Morris, and Ryan Peters. I thought Pat Mullin was also worthy of mention with his talking. Impressed with that. Loud and a good organiser. Hopefully see more of the other lads on trial over the next few games.

1st half

Mullin

Parish

2nd half

Gregory, Cable and Peters with our goals. No run-out for Paul Smith who was nursing a twisted ankle.

Ryan just oozed class when he came on. I am just glad that we have him on contract. His goal was pure class.

Was also nice to hear coaching from the sidelines again (even if the ref had to put his finger in his ear at one stage).

Came away feeling positive (but not overconfident). Oh and yes the boo boys have started already (shocking).

Nick Treadwell an 18 year old midfielder/defender who had been on Ramsgate's books.

Wayne Wilson I think. Ex Bromley or Braintree. Something like that. Tall midfielder

Ryan Wilfort. Ex Charlton, Tooting, Bromley, Welling and Tonbridge, Central defender

Didn't see Coleman, SCS or Hickman.

2 other were missing tonight, Roberto Corbishley (bad case of Flu) and Jason Mcaree(due back from holiday in the early hours). Anyone who saw it will not fail to remember the way those to link up, and the lovely, quick one touch football they can play.

Well done lads, great result. Sorry to hear the pathetic ones( Boo Boys) were out and about so early.

Thanks for updattes/teams guys-keep it flowing.

special thanks to Porka for posting the teams and the trialist 'research'.

I guess the other trialist was cable-are'nt there 'lots of 'Cables'-all brothers i guess-floating around the Kent league' (and quite prolific scorers ) and that blackman is lloyd blackman who was at crawley and folkestone amongst others

Good to read from Blue blood that corbishley may still be very much part of the set up.

A few names there that are rumoured to have signed but not confirmed by MFC:

Gregory,Corbs,Hammond ,Bowles for example.

Any confirmation last night that any of these guys have actually been signed ?

Notwithstanding all of that-well done BA and players.

Not the strongest looking nucleus of players on paper-however it eventually pans out--but if well organised-maybe we will hold our own.

Assuming Deal put out close to their first team-no mean effort to 'control the game' -so well done MFC.

Players Porka missed were Nicky Smith up front in first half and Jay Peak? up front or alternating with Peters on right in 2nd half. Cable's first name is Ross, thought he took his goal well.

Goals were 8 mins for Deal, we had 2 dead cert appeals for penalties turned down in 1st half, BA was going mad at ref on touchline! James Gregory headed in a beautiful goal from a cross by Nick Treadwell after 60 mins, 73 minute Ross Cable chipped the goalie after a through ball from Ryan Peters and finally in 80th minute Ryan went on a run on the right, cut into box and fired the ball past the hapless keeper.

According to my team sheet Paul it is John Wilfort I think?

Trialists names for those who like to know were Ist half, Wayne Wilson (midfield), Daniel Stubbs (midfield), John Wilfort (centre back) Lloyd Blackman (Striker) and Nicky Smith (striker).

2nd half Wes Hammond (centre back), James Gregory (left back), Nick Treadwell (midfield), Ross Cable(Striker) and Jay Peak (striker, right mid).

Tom Hickman was at game but suffering from an injury, Harker, Lewis and Payne I believe we are all away on hols.

if the boo boys did start their nonsense last night they should be named and shamed. we have not got the overpaid prima donnas now (although we have not had any for a couple of years anyway) just a bunch of young lads untested at this level. give them a fair chance.

we have had two wasted years when we have had players who could have romped the league but the management was not strong enough. unfortunately i still think kinnear would have taken us up with those squads. go on do your shouting but i will always stick by it

so leave the new lads alone and think about the fact that the people who wasted the money over the last few years and put us in the situation where we need to rely on the kids.

They did not actually boo the players on the pitch but, had the usual sarcastic comments in a loud whisper so the bench could hear. Otherwise the people I stood with for the majority of the match had nothing but constructive comments to make.Hopefully others will learn from them.

Yes it was good to stand with the other fans hearing positive comments and, as others have said, the way BA was on the touchline with the players, great to hear.
