Well, we're nearly there to see Sweets new shape squad in action.

 

Mick Doyle at Penn has asked me to let you all know that the bar will be open on Saturday and they will be having a BBQ at the ground should anyone feel peckish.

 

Hopefully the weather will be good, we'll have a good Rebels performance and the excitement can begin as the friendlies go through thick and fast!

can anyone tell me what time the eton wick game kicks off on tuesday and will there be many supporters going down there as i am led to beleive it is going to be a game of our trailists?

Trialists and under 18 side I believe. Not sure on kick-off though...

So how did we get on today in our first game? Was it a first team squad involved or a mixed team?

Good solid result of 5-0 and was very glad to see Danny Jordan score a hat trick on his first run out for the rebels.

 

If Derek was considering the team he put out in the first half as near the 1st team he will use this year I dont think he will go far wrong.

 

The players used in the second half just go to show the potential depth of the squad Derek is putting together.

 

Well done to the players today and a special well done to Derek for his work at bringing in some very intresting players.

Agreed, i said atb the end of last season at least since Sweets came ouir losses are much less painful to watch, lets hope he canm copntionue to get players of the calibre of our two new strikers... (cos both of them looked like the best two up top since Boot and Hodges)

Agreed, very tidy setup there and I was impressed by the bar and other facilities. Hope we go back next pre-season.
