It all happens in Markyate!

We have had Murder in Markyate only a few years ago, but i don't think it has anything to do with being too near hemel. I should think it is because we are too near Luton, and there is also a Pikey's camp about 2 miles down the road going into Dunstable, and they are always causing trouble with the Indian restaurant that is in the Village.

 

They took baseball bats with them and ramed their van into the restaurant wall and proceeded to batter the waiters over the heads with the bats.

 

Also, when there is the "annual" clash with the Markyate and Luton lads, it gets quite messy!

 

Markyate is a nice place if you live in the posh area, and there are some lovely fields and forests to walk around in, so please don't get me wrong, Markyate is lovely really!!!!!

I know Markyate reasonably well, used to work with a one-armed man from the village. Apparently at the local primary school there's 40 kids with 2 family names between them!
