Fleet trialists

Recommended Posts

Lee Mags looked like he could do with another try, I think his XXL shirt probably made him drift off course in the wind a bit. Looked like a ship in full sail. No idea if he's still around or going the West Country with Liam, in case anyone thinks I have insider info.

Maybe we should bring in an experienced League Striker to help us in the promotion race this season, Exeter City have signed Marcus Stewart who's experience alone will be hugely beneficial to them. So how about we bring in a Striker that has been there done that and would help the younger players as well, someone like Teddy Sheringham, yes I know he's retired and would even now probably demand more wages than we could afford, but it could take someone like that to just give us that bit more quality to take us to League 2.

Another chance is needed for those that have impressed Liam in training as 1 game is not enough regardless of opposition. The fact that it was against quality opponents adds weight to this.

I seem to recall discussions last year after we thrashed Charlton's kids when we discussed the trialists and I was one of a few that really didn't rate the big centre forward. Luckily Liam saw something in him and kept hold of him. He went on to score the winner at Wembley.

(I didn't trawl through the old posts to back this up for fear of being called a sad and lonely loser again)
