i assume what with releasing Jermaine we have another striker lined up because if not i would be worried. saturday he played like a player who had to impress or be released and despite many chances never composed himself enough. would have been more than handy to have on the bench this season. vital goals occasionally at least came from him last season

not surprised by Keller he was the worst player on saturday probably

good about brown and daly

slightly worried we still dont seem to have a massive amount of depth in the squad although of course we cant afford masses of players

I drafted a team from the above based on Saturday's reports (I missed the game) and I thought we had a strong looking squad with huge competition for a spot on the bench.

That said it would appear that Platt and Jordan are the only out and out strikers so far but it may be that we will re-sign Roy Gumbs as an impact player for the bench and it may be Sweets has someone else lined up.

The only position I don't think we are covered in is right wing but it maybe that one of those already signed or mentioned will fill in that position.

Hopefully tonight's game with the under 18s and triallists will produce a couple more decent signings. Looking forward to seeing it.

A shame about Gumbs leaving, he and a few of the others were pretty good last season and gave a lot to try and keep us up. That said the squad is building nicely from the sound of the first friendly, hopefully we can add a few more players so that we're not playing people out of position.

Would like to see two more of last years squad signed up - Roy Gumbs as his presence scares defences (he scares me when he charges up to celebrate!) and he is totally commited to STFC.

The other is Tom Attrell as with some good coaching and building his body strenght he will be a good left sided player of the future.

Thing is with Jermaine I felt that he had one good game, where he looked good at this level, then he'd have quite a few ones where he went missing. Best of luck to him though. Here's hoping Roy Gumbs stays and we have someone lined-up to replace Jermaine.
