Released: Adrian Browne, Danny Jeffreys, Jason Marney, George Moleski, Abby Nsubuga, Rommell Gumbs, Terry Davies (Northwood), Ryan Wharton (Uxbridge), Lee Rendell (Oxford City), Chris Robinson (Staines), Jermaine Gumbs, Lee Carroll, Shaun Keller

 

Davies & Wharton release confirmed. Brown and Daly agreed terms and signed at the weekend.

The only one that I'm a little surprised has been released is Danny Jeffries. Providing he was committed to playing and not working etc.

I'm hoping to hear something about Ryan Wharton as I thought he looked more than useful in the Bridgwater game

Jeffries was struggling for form towards the end of the season after his long break. shame because at the start of last season he was brilliant but if he cant guarantee being there all the time then its fair to let him go

 

Browne showed commitment last season being at every game even when injured

 

Marney tried hard in the games he played. i thought he may have stuck around as a backup player and think he would have been kept if we had a reserve team just obviously we are unable to have one just now

 

George was always leaving for Cyprus. just a shame we didnt get to see more of him last season

 

Abby and Rommell is no real shock at all

He also impressed me in the last game against Fleet where I thought he was our best defender.

I'm not saying it's true but someone mentioned on the forum at the end of last season that Ryan Wharton goes where the money is.

I'm hoping to hear about Steve Daly, Terry Davies and Laurence Brown.

what about jermaine gumbs is he still with the club

i assume we will hear the futures of Daly, Davies, Brown and the Gumbs - Jermaine and Roy pretty soon. considering they are not on the released list i assume we want those to stay its just down to whether they want to stay which of course could be a factor

Of course the other factor is do they want to stay and fight for their place because there is some pretty stiff competition in their positions.

Now, as we've signed a lot of new players I presume most of these won't be staying on. However although nice enough people we must remember we were effectively relegated last season with these players. I'd personally only keep 4 (maybe 5) of these on

Marney was fed up with warming the bench every week and getting five minutes at the end of the game , he didnt want to stay . He is due to play for another local team in the same league

On the subject of Davies, he said today to our warehouse staff (he was earning some money with a local haulier) that he is signing or has signed for Northwood. Apparently they have a pre-season game against AFC Wombles (tonight?) and he's playing.

 

This is second hand because I didn't get to speak to him but I checked him out on the cameras and can confirm it was him!

So, he's a local Slough lad and he's not exactly stepping up in standard to improve himself, so why would he want to play for Northwood?

Probably because they will let him play on Sundays which seems to be more important to him than the team that pays the wages.

From Chris's list above I would keep Roy Gumbs, Thomas Attrell, John Ellis & Brian Connor if his legs are still up to it.

 

Problem with Davis was that the put Sunday football first!

He's at Bracknell. Played in their first friendly and apparently had a good game.
