With the differing ages on the forum it will be interesting to see who you all choose.

For me, its a player who stuck with his club, never moved when he could had, stayed because he loved his club, nothing to do with the money just the passion. i believe that although his playing days are over he is still at the club doing other things

For me its Ryan Giggs, another player to stay loyal to his club, just a shame he has never been able to grace a Major Championship for Wales.

On much the same basis as Pagey, and same club, for me it has got to be Billy Wright. Run a close second by another Wolves great, Bert Williams.

Sir Stanley Mathews for me, closely followed by Gordon Banks. Non league, Arthur Sherratt. Arthur was a true legend in my area, he Played for Warslow Celtic( my home village team) and had 3 England( when in the services) representative games against USA, Germany and Italy. Arthur's dad wouldn't let him go when Mr H Chapman knocked on his door. Told him to clear off as Arthur had to help feed his brothers and sisters not kick a football around a field, he could do that at home in is spare time(if he had any). Arthur spent his working life (before taking over the family small holding after his fathers death) walking 8 miles to work in Hartshead quarry. His 5 1/2 day week was spent breaking stone with a sledge hammer before shoveling it into waiting railway trucks before walking the 8 miles back home. Saturday afternoons were spent playing football. How many modern day footballers would/ could do that?.
