Thamesmead friendly

If correct-and BA did say he was looking for a fixture on that date (quite a few friendlies now in fairness )another good test against the winners of the Kent League last season-so no mean side.

I read it was on there website on 5th July-so MFC can't really say its new news.

Nice website thamesmead have got,and really nice (approved ) ground redevelopment plans

I guess we must remain open to the fact that the club promises to advise as soon as anything is confirmed, that this fixture may not actually be confirmed- (although odd that on Thamesmead site -which appears to be updated daily-for 10 days )

Another big club to play then. No money whatsoever in our friendlies and not much of a footballing test either. Surely Ashby could have got a friendly against the Gills or Watford or Brentford. Sorry for being uninspired but no news on experienced players (they'll all be signed up by now anyway) no news on the mythical stadium-even some steps and a cover at the Coffin End wound keep us happy, no sponser and dodgy psf's, woopy doo! Rob Butler maybe the biggest chavvy c0ck of all time but he may have a point when he says we're going down.

Rob, you can use that as your signature if you like.

No financial benefit to be had from the fixtures-putting us further behind the likes of Dover and dartford, but i do think that the 'quality ' and testing power of the friendlies is good.

Apart from deal tonight-all against clubs just one div lower who will be playing to win i would have thought so strong tests and hopefully against physical sides who will mix it up to give the young players a test and taster of the way most teams in ryman play

Why don't the moaners wait and see who turns out tonight and in future friendlies befote passing judgment on the players. Whats the point in being thrashed 5 nil by charton or Gills and putting the lads down before they start. As for the ground developments. I agree!

Just wondering if anyone was going to venture to the muddy banks of the Thames estuary tomorrow ,and whether we may get a few 'reports' later that evening?

Drew 1-1, both goals in second half. Our line-up:

GK SCS

RB Roberto Corbishley (subd Paul Smith 2nd)

LB James Gregory (capt - subd Justin Roach 2nd)

CB Louis Smith (subd h-t by mystery centre back)

CB Gary xxxx (subd h-t by Dan Young)

RM Luke Coleman (subd h-t by Dan Stubbs)

LM Aaron Quain (subd 2nd Nick Moir)

CM Wayne Wilson

CM Tom Hickman

ST Ryan Peters (subd 2nd Sol Pinnock)

ST ?? I think might have been Buster Smissen of Hythe

One unused sub - Joe Taylor, bit unlucky as his dad was there.

The mystery striker got our goal.

Went to Slade Green v Welling before our game and ran into ex-Margate full back Brian Frampton there.

I thought the mystery centre back looked good and the mystery striker also looked useful.Difficult to say to much after half a game.Scott had a good game in goal, shot stopping and handling.Thamesmead always produce good competitive teams and I thought they looked good today. They should do well in Ryman 1.I thought we did very well considering we are still looking for our best team and most of these guys have not played together before.
