Pick The Team - Dead in the water

So being in control of peoples lively-hoods has no importance, its all about picking eleven player. how sad is that.

The livelyhood importance is always brought up, but if your honest before MYFC stepped in the future was part time pro's, And dwindling crowds.
To say the majority joined for a club near them is so far off the mark its untrue. Many of those originals signed up for more than a year such was there commitment before they knew what team would be picked.Thousands went to wembley from all over the world, how much commitment do you want.
But running the club? very little evidence of that. The best debate was that of season ticket prices, i enjoyed that. I voted to lower the prices and for the mini-season tickets. Argued till i was blue in the face about matchday prices for kids but to no avail. I'm a football fan, so i voted what was best for the fan as i firmly believe that if fans get a better deal more will come.
As for PTT how difficult is it to pick 11 players and 3 subs from 15 picks? The team nigh on picks itself. That was the selling point and it is still the selling point otherwise who the hell would pay

Which just goes to show how fickle MYFC support is. They are not really supporters but users. As a main stream supporter, I have had to put up with promises of a new ground, the chances of that happening are very remote. A name change that I did not want, Then being sold to a load of faceless people on the internet. Which again I did not want. There I am still, every week come rain or shine supporting my club that likes to pooh on it's supporters from a great height as often as it can. Do I run off and support Dartford. Throw my toys out of my pram because I cannot get my own way? Give up at the first hurdle Nope. It's about loyalty and it is something that very very few MYFC supporters will ever have about the club I love.

I think this is very unfair.

The guy who travelled from Oxford to Ebbsfleet for the maintenance Saturday, got burnt to hell with the sun, travelled home on the train, then did the same thing again on the Sunday. The people that have travelled across the world, many more examples.

Would you descrie my missus as a user as she ran about getting curry on Sat, then served it up to people ? She hardly saw the match.

I think it is dangerous to sya MYFC this , that, just as it is to say original fans this, that.

We are all individuals.

The quicker some ( not all ) people on both sides realise that myfc / local fans are NOT the enemy, the sooner we get together and get somewhere.

We could be on the verge here of something very special over the next decade. When people see that, we are making progress.

How many teams have a CEO reading the forums and acting on what is suggested ? . We know there are problems, but we all want them sorted, and they will be if we pull together.

We have so much to work with. We have local fans whose loyalty and work for the club can not be questioned, and that goes back for years. We have new fans who have so much enthusiasm, you would not believe. We can act quickly due to the net based aspect of this. We can raise funds quickly when needed. We have a CEO who is one of MYFC's own, AND one of FOCUS's own.

Surely , we have a chance here ?

Always the same answer, your so loyal and anyone on MYFC wouldn't understand that. Ive been going to football 40 years man and boy never missed a game for my team for 15 years home or away. You didn't want the name change! nor did the Gravesend fans when they merged with Northfleet. Those faceless people you hate so much Saved your club (like it or not) why because your very own fickle fans didn't turn up.
Like i said, i watched many teams to find a team to follow, i paid my

Firstly, to Foxy and the Missus, thanks for all your hard work Saturday, the food was great, and more than likely (a) stopped me from being drunker than I was, and (B) having a full belly meant I couldn't catch and kill Jarvis, only scar him, so it kept me out of jail.

The whole 'them and us' thing seems a bit pointless and stupid to me now when you think of all the work done by all fans, new and old, over the past 6 or so months. From cleaning the ground up, to starting a successful podcast, raising

Well said Keith, he was also, as you know, there on Saturday and is planning on coming to every home Saturday match this season, he can't make the Tuesday night matches because he relies on public transport from Oxford.
Maybe its just me but I think that is a better excuse than not making the Tuesday night matches becuase there is a Champions league match in the telly like some of our fans.

Yes totally agree with Chris as well. It's about time people from both sides stopped bickering and scoring points against each other and started to think of the good of the club. Of course there will be differences between us, but this constant sniping gets us nowhere.

Chris, we do the things because we love it. I might sound a soppy sod, but in the evening I looked about the place and couldn't think of anywhere else I would want to be. I mean, music, food, footie, friends, says it all. I was even tempted to pick up the plastic glasses.

I think we have a fun 12 months ahead of us. Back Liam & David as much as we can, and see where it takes us.

Can I have 50p on the FA Cup first round at Leicester please ! :-( So many LCFC people on myfc, inc the Chair !. Sods law, I have this feeling, you know, like that Wembley one we had about Jan ! :-)

The fact that so many MyFC members and Fleet local supporters have become friends over the past year is evidence enough of success. As Chris said, we should be focusing on how to make the club stronger and recruiting more MyFC members rather than throwing around unnecessary accusations and looking for the whole project to fold.

We had about 18,000 members when the purchase took place, some portion of which we'll lose in February. But 12,000 more have joined since Ebbsfleet United was announced as the club. I suspect we'll lose a much smaller portion of those, and not all of them will be at one time. If we recruit steadily and stabilize a core of support, I don't think we'll have to worry about dropping below the 15,000 threshold required for the operator to stay involved.

there is no doubt that the MyFc thingy has changed ebbs for the better and that the future is more certain than it was....

I have no truck with the way that MyFc is run as it is done so contra to the very creed that it stands for but at least half of that membership will stay and if DD can redress the balance with outside sponsorship who knows how bright the future could be...

on a less serious note I see that bannings and deletions and book burnings are now rife on the cesspit...its turned into a proper NL forum.. grin
