Official Fleet Photographer

Do the Fleet have an official photographer, someone who shoots every game? And if so, are those photos on the web somewhere?

 

I know that Graeme of snappingaway.com does some of the games, but I don't think he does all, does he?

Dave Plumb is official photographer but the pics aren't online as far as I know.

Is he on these boards at all? The reason I ask is that I'd like to select a few really good shots and make prints for my classroom, and I'm also thinking of doing a blog this season and would like to use one shot per game on that site (with permission, of course). I'll try to reach him through the club office if I can't find him online. Thanks, Stu.

What's the current Fleet policy on photography?

Apparantly , following an incident outside the Nike sorry Fleet Trust Shop , it is illegal to take photograph of the floor. This offence is punishable by certain death by mr jobsworth.

 

Things are so bad that the person doing it had to chnage his forum name from Chatham Gary to Hampstead Gaz.

Put it this way, if the steward is under 14, 4'6" tall and is wearing an XXL retro-reflective jacket, assume they will try to steal it off you.

If, however it is a 'proper' steward, the like of which we encountered at Wembley, assume common sense will prevail.

What is the reasoning behind the ban on cameras? If it's a silly reason, let's call it to DD's attention so he can work out a revision with the new Safety Officer. If it's a legitimate reason, fair enough.

It's probably to do with Conference regulations. They had (and may still have) a scheme whereby all photographers had to be registered with the conference either diredtly, or through a club, and had to be able to show that they carried the necessary insurance etc.

Did you ever get you camera in to Wembley or did you think it wasn't worth the risk?

Cameras at Wembley were no problem at all - I snapped away with a steward standing nearby and he never said a word.
