New Away Shirt?

Recommended Posts

Of course you are entitled to your opinion, its just that I am surprised at your views on the subject. I had you down as a When Saturday Comes type of supporter and all that normally entails. My error.

"Older"? Is it really an age thing? How many years separate us anyway? I am certainly not old enough to be your father! Whether I would personally buy the kit isn't the issue. I think that it is more of a moral issue anyway. A chance to take corporate responsibility.

And yes, surely everyone knows it will be the white kit that is selected, which potentially means that a third kit will be required when we play at Stevenage, Alty, etc. Can't see them switching to their away strips to play at home in can you?

Meanwhile back to the "jumble sale"!

Sorry kmj didn't mean to imply you were 'proper' old even though you could actually be my dad. I am speaking from a personal point of view. Many people spend 40 pounds on a casual shirt to wear on a saturday night. IMHO 40 pounds on a football shirt that will last 12 months is good value. I actually enjoy buying the football shirts and still at my ripe old age get excited when a new one is released (sad i know). Perhaps my enthusiasm will wane when my kids want them.

Thanks, eufckev, point taken. Having just had a look at the Stevenage and Altrincham shirts on their websites, I think it would be a question of how much red there would be on our white shirts. The Stevenage shirt seems to be almost completely white with red flashes so we could wear our home kit without a clash, but it is difficult to tell whether Altrincham's are white with wide red stripes or red with wide white stripes! To have an additional kit for only two matches does seem an expensive option (unless they could be signed by the players and sold to fans afterwards to offset the cost!)

That wouldn't be a bad idea. Something MyFC can take a look at if a third kit were to come into place.

Or (I'm not sure if this can be been done of not) if Stevenage, Altrincham or Woking play in their away kit at their home ground and we wear our home/away kit; this may well be a solution, pending if these clubs agree to do this or not. I'm sure this has been done a few times before (not involving Ebbsfleet Utd/Gravesend & Northfleet).

That was hilarious.

Aldershot played Woking away but Shots forgot their kit so had to wear a Woking away kit. Wouldn't have been tood bad but or the fact that the game was televised live on Sky.

Chelsea did a Similar thing about ten years ago when they went to Conventry but then if Sky blue clashes with both Royal Blue and white then what could they do?
