New Away Shirt?

Recommended Posts

It was mentioned in a post a few days ago that there was a possibility that the new Away shirt would be on sale at yesterdays match, this wasn't the case, is there any information on what shirt won the vote? By the way, I bought the new Home shirt and I reckon it's the best we've had, the velvet badge is very smart and the shirt looks classy. I just hope that when the new season starts, the team look as classy as the new kit.

I agree. I think it should have been announced after the vote. They didn't ask me, I'm afraid.

For anyone who has forgotten the choices...

On the Away shirt, I've heard that if our new away shirt is white, the team would need a third kit? Not sure on that one though.

I agree Kev. When I first heard that the badge wasn't embroidered I was pi$$ed off. Having looked at it at the maintenance weekend it was as bad as I first thought. I still think they are a a little over priced considering though. Probably bad negotiations from MyFC towers. If the chosen away shirt is white then we will definitely need a third shirt.

Not really. If the fans want to buy the shirts then what's the problem? The biggest statement would be not to buy them. No one forces us to purchase merchandise.

You must have a short memory. Don't you remember the Football Task Force and the controversy over shirt prices and frequently changing kits? I had hoped that this would be something that MyFC would take a stand on. While I am surprised at your personal opinion, if your views are anything to go by, the organisation would represent the exact opposite of avoiding fans being exploited. Very disappointing.

Sorry kmj. I didn't realise that being a board member meant I couldn't have a personal opinion. Must go back to the dark ages and revise. I heard people complaining about the Wembley shirt. They sold though didn't they. If the members choose to have a third kit and they want to purchase a third kit then it is up to them. Don't get so worked up about it.

If enough thought is given to the colour(s) of an "away" kit a third kit would never be required. There is a thin line between offering useful merchandise and ripping off fans. In my view a third kit definitely falls into the latter category. Anyone who can remember the Spitting Image take on this with players changing their kits at every opportunity during a game (including Gazza wearing the tutu version!), will realise that exploitation of fans is but a short step away. Rarely has satire been so accurate

I agree Kev. It's all about choice. Did I feel exploited by the Fleet Trust last season for selling 4 kinds of polo shirts or 3 kinds of jackets or 2 different coloured caps and so on?? Of course I didn't. It gave me a choice. Admittedly I bought 3 polos and 2 jackets along with both shirts. doh If I couldn't afford it I wouldn't buy it and the same if I didn't like it.

I respect your comments kmj but they are made from an older perspective. My dads views are the same but he doesn't buy a shirt.

Anyway, let's wait and see what the away strip is first.
