Pre season result

Just heard thru the infamous grapevine that Sandhurst played Hanworth Villa today. Sandhurst were 2-0 up but ended up losing 6-2.

I went to Farnboro' 2-1 Maidenhead. No sign of Mark Peters who's supposed to be on trial at Boro.

 

First time i've been to Cherrywood Road for over a year and what a difference! It was always a tatty uninviting ground with bits of red and white. Now almost completely revamped in blue and yellow and they've done a great job really (and still not finished). There is even a permanent table/chair set up by the refreshment hut. Not to mention rolling perimeter advertising (what you normally see on the telly!). Seems to be some ambition there, that's for sure. Car park still full of pot holes mind.

Just shows what a bit of hard work and effort can do. No need for all that money from Westley that time.

 

Much prefer the name 'Cherrywood road' than what it was named after Westley took charge!

I do remember about 10 years ago, Westley declaring Farnborough would be in the Premiership in 10 years!!

Yes that sounds about right.

 

Promised a lot but failed.

 

When i was there on the fringe of the 1st team 10 years ago he sent me a letter in August saying "thank you for attending the pre saeason trials,,,blah blah blah..... unfortunately we will not be offering you an immediate contract but welcome you to continue playing in the reserves with a view to achieving a contract with us".

 

1 week later recieved another letter saying " unfortunately Farnborough Town Fc have not entered a resewrve team in the Suburban league. Good luck in the future"

saw bedfont green beat harefield 3-0 today. Bed were missing a fair few but looked good

Went to see Hernia Bay vs Wembley. Unfortunatley Hernia Bay were gifted 2 goals and a perfectley good goal from Wembley was adjudged not to have crossed the line. Final result Hernia Bay 4 - 0 Wembley.

I think you'll find Mark Peters has allready moved from Farnboro to Walton Casuals TRS he'll probably end up at Frimley Green around about October(chairman there loves him).

I believe Mark was at Farnborough for early pre-season and then was contacted by one of his old clubs Walton and Hersham. Frimey Green would take him back if things do not work out as he is a very good player. I am sure your boss koo would accept him at Cove Duncs.

Woods drew 1-1 with Holmesdale on Saturday.

Ressies (all triallists) lost 0-3 to same oppo.

Playing Leatherhead on Thursday at 7pm.

Epsom lost 2-1 to Fisher after 120 mins. Played 4 quarters of half hour each. We were 1-0 up at 90 minutes.
