Nice shirt, not so nice badge!

Recommended Posts

Got the new home shirt today, and it's lovely apart from the badge it's like velvet!

might be better in furture to have it stitched in like before.

EA Sports are going to be printed on the back of the next batch of shirts, you can have that heated on for free when there in. A bit like last year and the Seacon sticker.

Am really dissapointed with the logo on the shirt. It looks and feels extremely cheap and is in two parts (those who have it will see what I mean).

For a huge company like Nike, this is an absolute piss take, especially considering how we're (the fan) getting charged more, the club is recieving a hell of a lot less, and the fact it was probably made for next to nothing in a sweatshop in India.

I voted against Nike on the MyFC site and I hate to say it but my suspisions against it have been confirmed with this issue.

I understand where people are coming from, it doesn't look like an embroided badge, but put it into context. It doesn't look awful by any means. The shirt is one of the classiest and most sophisticated we've ever had. For every 250 sold, our youth team get a free complete strip. Four of these have been issued so far. There will be no issue with supply of shirts at all. It could be worse; there've been seasons where the badge has been embroided well enough, but on to a shirt which was tacky and cheap-looking.

The last 3 Jacko shirts (GLSFootball.com one onwards) have been, IMHO, more original and overall better than the new one. Give me one of them anyday.

With regards to the free youth kits, this is good but the club I believe would have still easily made more money using a different supplier (for demand reasons) with the same profit percentage as Jako, giving free kits to the youth teams.

I see that Nike have retained the Kidderminster copy dark shade of red used at Wembley for the FAT Final one-off shirt in this season's kit. It is very disappointing that the traditional red worn by previous Fleet teams has been jetisoned to fit in with what they already had in stock. Not exactly surprised though.
