Telford release King

Recommended Posts

Telford have released manager Jack King from his contract with immediate effect.

The club cited a conflict between King's role as manager and his business interests for the decision.

King's exit comes just two days after the Bucks finished 15th for the season with a 3-0 defeat at Woking.

After the game King admitted that this campaign had been the hardest in his managerial career, although he was confident about his side's prospects in the Conference next season.

King, who has enjoyed three successful years at the club, was called to a board meeting on Monday morning to discuss "his interest with a local partner in a new business venture".

"The board feels that this new venture will cause a conflict between his commitment/ priority to his business and Telford United Football Club," said a club statement.

"Consequently it has been decided to release him from his contract.

"This decision is in no way a reflection on Jake King's football management abilities and the board wishes him well for the future."
