There will be a "Let Liam pick the team" Button

Recommended Posts

I have just had a quick look & I do not think it's a vote on an issue to determine a permanent way forward on PTT. To me it looks like you can choose what you want for each game as it comes up - ie let the coach choose for this game; I want to pick but let Liam modify the majority selection; I want to vote & I'm a numpty who thinks my fellow geeks & I know best/things are going so badly at present, so to Hell with it & let the fans decide on this one.

Seems pretty sensible to me, all in all.

Don't worry - I know a fair bit about MyFC and how it operates, and I can tell you that in the long run, the members won't be picking the team. It's just taking the powers that be a while to ease MyFC members into the idea, as of course many people (myself included, when I thought MyFC was a good thing) paid up last year on that basis. However, if you say something often enough eventually it becomes reality, as we all know - and they have been saying for some time that having a set of options as shown above is picking the team. It wasn't what we talked about last August, I can assure you. Anyway, I won't be engaging at all in team "selection".

Actually lack of renewals is the one thing that could/will prove its downfall, those who want ptt will claim the let Liam choose button has caused the lack of renewals and those who don't want ptt will claim that ptt has caused the lack of renewals, nobody will claim a victory though because we will all lose.

Last season Liam and the boys pulled off a miracle and neither the club or MyFC have done very much to capitalise on that. Hopefully DD will address that as his first priority at the club.
Liam and this years boys will need to pull another rabbit out of the hat by renewal time if MyFC is going to continue in its present form and that means either a 3rd round FA cup tie or a play-off place in January.

I couldn't agree more Tony. If not it's downfall, certainly a big rethink or re-structure. There is a small hardcore of MyFC members who I genuinely believe have a growing affinity with the The Fleet but these are the ones that are mainly able to get to a few games but are a fraction of the total MyFC membership. Interesting times ahead but with DD up front I think we have a good chance of some sort of stability and continuity being established.

I just participated by giving Liam the choice.

As I am sure that most of the sensible members will do.

I can see the second option being very popular also - "Here's my opinion, but pick your own team anyway!" Something that football fans do up and down the country anyway, argue about team selection - so might as well have a high-tech way of recording it...

I can't speak for Sal, obviously, but for me it's the tie to the club now, not MyFC per se. That said, I want MyFC to grow rather than wither, because it's an interesting ownership model and has the capacity to afford EUFC a good, strong future if we keep membership up.

I agree with the first part Slarti, but not sure if the non-PTTers would walk away if PTT was allowed. The mindset of those who joined up only to PTT will of course mean in all likelihood they'll walk if it's not given, but those who don't want to PTT would, I imagine, stick around and just not select a team if full PTT was a reality.

Stu, this is my position entirely. In all likelihood, I will be able to make a maximum of half a dozen games a season ( that's home and away added together) After all, I pay over

So if its not the chat, not the matches, not something else... Why will you (and others like you) continue to renew next year?

I have already renewed for year 2 and I want EUFC to do well and go from strength to strength. But I am getting to the point where I have had it with MyFC and all it represents. There is a culture of control on there now which feels all wrong to me. I think after year 2 I will just send the money to the club directly ...
