Not contracted though at moment-although Krunic is .

How does it 'work' for the reserves-i guess the players must be registered to the club to play in the kent league;but are there reserve contracts as such.

i.e simply-but only-by being registered to play for the reserves, can players still 'wander off' to play for another club at any time they feel like it ?

Good luck to Matt, I for one am sorry to see him go because IMO he was only going to get better and better at just 16 last season.

Ian all the players have to have Dual registration for both the Rymans League and Kent league so as they can play for the reserves when needed.

Although the reserve players only need Kent league registration if they are promoted to 1st team they can register same day with the Rymans.

Well -i'm as confused as ever.

I was trying to establish if by signing Kent league reg. forms, essentially that contracted a player to a club so they could not just wander off elsewhere.

having said that-are contracts meaningless anyway as i get the impression that if another club fancies your own player-they make a' 7 day approach' (whatever one of those is ) and you lose the player anyway !!

Is this '7 day approach stuff' something that is 'unique at our step 3 level-so in fact you can only lose your player this way to a club at your own level .

Thus-if i am correct-the fact that our younger players are on contract may be meaningless;as say for example a couple of them really shine and clubs with money-maybe Dover and Sutton fancy them-theose clubs make 7 day aproaches and the players leave for pastures new .

Seems a right minefield but probably down to my ignorance

It is a mine field. Basically if the players are signed for one club re Margate on Rymans forms they cannot be approached without a 7 day notice by another club. They can play for another team in the kent league and still be signed with Margate for the Rymans.

It is quite easy but would take ages to go through all the different laws but most for under 24s comes under the bosnum ruling which can be looked up on the FA site. Clubs can't just come in and take players without compensating their present club for their development.

The contract side of things is a f-cking joke but mostly it is down to players greed not so much at non league level but it has started creeping in over the last couple of years.
