First game vs Mansfield

Recommended Posts

Hi, a Stags fan here.

Will there be any special arrangements for visiting fans for the Mansfield game?

How many does the away end hold?

Which is the best pub for away fans?

Not sure how many we will bring as it is quite a distance but now we have new supporter friendly owners we should have a good turn out as it is our first game in BSP. We took over a thousand to Dagenham in May.

What is normal number of away fans you get for matches?

I know, a lot of questions but most of the grounds this year will be first time for us.

LOL - did your number at Daggers include all those who contacted the club in the week before the game asking for a refund on their ticket as the game meant nothing?

"Special arrangements" - do you think you are the first club to turn up at Stonebridge Road with more than a handful of fans? The away ens will easily cope with your numbers, and the Plough is right outside the ground for all your drinking requirements!

Have a great day, and thanks for the 3 points!!

Morning Petey

Long time no reply from anyone on here for your Qs , so I shall start the proceedings ... ahem ...

Special arrangements will be your lot chanting "Who are ya " whilst choking on our gristleburgers and soggy chips ... followed by "You're supposed to be at home" to our faithful 700 crowd . The local kids will be inspecting car stickers to look for Stags fans - someone with a brain cell will have to tell them first that Mansfield is not in the Gravesend area , though . Then they'll try and nick your spare tyre if it hangs underneath the car . Unless you park in the Eurostar car park for

Welcome to the BSP . Just one little word of warning , this league is bloddy hard. Any of the top 12 teams are more than capable of beating any other top 12 team.

I remember when Oxford came down and one of their supporters told me "we are only here for a season". Look at them now.

But welcome anyhow. best shopping for the wife is Bluewater. Loads of places to eat there as well. Pub is The Plough. Youll enjoy the banter with the fleet fans there. Bets food near ground is Euro Kebab at top of the hill (hil by the plough not the other one.) and as for parking , I must confirm what the other say. Then NCP run Eurostar Car Park C is superb value at

...And did Torquay and York when they came down. This is a tough league. Hardly any team comes down to this league and then straight back up.

Enjoy your stay, Pete.

Pete, since this will be a new ground for you boys e should point out that the away end at San stonebridge is uncovered, you will be there at the right time of the year as it is unlikely to be cold but if it looks like rain you might like to wear your waterproof Stags skivvies.

The food in the ground isn't to anyones everyones taste so it might be worth eating in the Plough.

Hope you enjoy the Conference, we won't be the best side in the league or the worst so how you perform at our place should give you a fair idea of how your season is likely to go.

Sorry, the 'special arrangements' bit came over a bit naff, but the section about Ebbsfleet on conferencegrounds.co.uk website said that segregration of away fans doesn't normally occur. Is that not so now?

The thousand fans at Daggers in May was not usual, but we did take 400 to Brentford for the first game of last season. I would have thought this figure would be about right for the Ebbsfleet match.

What numbers of away fans do normally travel to Ebbsfleet. I know it will vary from club to club, so what range of figures did attend last season.

Thanks for all the other advice.

Now now RS, play nice.

Varies really.

Cambridge who were in the Play Off hunt brought about 400-500 on a Setanta Easter Monday game. Torquay brought about the same. Exeter brought a few less. York about 200 for a miserable Saturday afternoon.

It's not a surprise really that away figures at Stonebridge Road are mirrored by league standing, expection of seeing a decent performance along with history.

Conferencegrounds.co.uk needs to update from about three years ago. We may not segregate Farsley, Halifax etc but we would segregate against you lot.

You've got the massive away end and best view in the ground. You can play the TRAIN! game and generally have a great time. You don't have a roof so pray for basking sunshine and not much rain.

Pete, there are other pubs apart from the Plough - two or three within 5-10mins walk up the Hill (although the Plough is right outside the ground). Also about 10-15 mins walk up the Hill towards Gravesend there is a cracking greasy spoon cafe without
the grease - recommended. Factor 30 suntan lotion will definitely be needed as the pylons don't cast too much of a shadow. Enjoy your day and enjoy your season.
