Team Predicitions for 2008/9

[I am Spartacus]

As last year here is my assesment for next season. I will comment on all teams bar 1.

 

AFC Hornchurch Supprised a few people last season and did well to be in the playoffs. Despite denials from a certain person they appear to have strengthened thier squad for this season to push for automatic promotion. However, people will have worked out thier game plan. Predict top 8 but not winners.

 

Ashford They way they finished last seasons campaign and with the best attacking midfielder in the league I predict top 4 and do not be supprised if they win it.

 

Billericay Did well to come out of a bad patch last season but have lost a few again this season. Will always be there but mid table.

 

Borehamwood Will do well to avoid relegation for real this season. Sorry bottom 6.

 

Canvey Island They appear to think that just being in this league is success. Middle to Bottom half of table.

 

Carshalton Are they the Chlemo moneybags this season. Spending money on players wages as if it grows on trees. Sold there best defender so will still leak goals. Middle slot for them.

 

Dartford Another one splasing the cash. With gates of 1,000 should be in playoffs if the crowds get behind them. However, will falter at the end and finish just outside the playoffs.

 

Harlow Nice stadium but poor crowds. Will have a few good results and difficult to beat but, mid table.

 

Harrow Is this the season that they will get relegated. Unfortunatley I think they will.

 

Hastings Have lost a lot of players due to wage structure. Were lucky to avoid he drop last year and will struggle again this.

 

Hendon Everbodys supprise team last season (except mine as predicted playoffs for them). Tremedious team spirit will be dark horses again. Top 8

 

Heybridge This season will be 1 bridge to far. They will do well to avoid relegation.

 

Horsham Off field politics could transfer onto the pitch as they look for a new piece of land to build on. Bottom 6.

 

Maidstone Spent there money on ageing players. Will the disciplinary record and home ground hold them back. Bottom half of table.

 

Margate No comment.

 

Ramsgate The quality of players they have bought in does not match those that have left. How long will Steve Butler stay. Top half but no playoffs this season.

 

Staines Champions.

 

Sutton It never bodes well for relegated teams the first season. Top 10 but not in playoffs.

 

Tonbridge Another team splashing the cash. Some good buys. May just sneak into playoffs.

 

Tooting & MitchamThey are not here just to make up the numbers but will struggle. I do not think they will be relegated.

 

Wealdstone Cannot seem to attract quality players. Relegation.

Dover-top 4 for me.

 

Agree with most of what you post-think you have underestimated Sutton though-similarly-top 4

 

Top 4 from Sutton,Dover,Billericay,Staines.(in no particular order)

 

 

Next 5 Carlshalton,Ramsgate,Hornchurch,Ashford,Tonbridge (in no particular order )

Are you sure-perhaps Joseba could enlighten us-he has omitted Dover.

 

he does comment however on Margate- and says 'No comment'.

I think you will find he just forgot to include them as he says at top of his post he will comment on all teams bar one, which as no comment re Margate I thought he meant them?

 

Am sure he will come on later and correct us?

It's a month too early to do predictions. No one has played any friendlies and there are still loads of unattached players. I have been reading about Horsham's problems with their new ground, though. I think what happens on the pitch might be the least of their problems.

Dover With the addition of Ramsgates best players they will replace Ramsgate in the playoffs.
