The proposed renaming of Ruislip Manor to Tokyngton & Ruislip Manor FC will not change until the 2009/2010 season.

 

So they will remain Ruislip Manor FC for 2008/09.

 

Just thought someone might be interested and to start a new thread about football :-)

Cheers Special1, unfortunately I haven't kept up to date with the Ruislip Manor situation.

 

Where is the Old Viking Ground, is it in Ruislip Manor or in Tokyngton (which is somewhere I must confess that I've never heard of!)

As said above the ground is now Bedfont Green's - has been for a while but these days they only seem to use it for their ressies - its also where Neasden Foundation played 2/3rds of the 07/08 season in the CCL.

 

However my point is, that I tried to go a couple of season's back and never found the way in! doh

It has, what was , a very concealed entrance, directly off the A40 Eastbound - just past the turning for Long Drive.

 

I'm reliably informed that they've now bunged up a s@ddin' big sign which makes it difficult to miss.

 

I intend to get there this season if poss. - was going to go last year but Neasden F 'went under' before I managed it. frown

 

If you look for it on Flash Earth its clearly visible between Long Drive and Oldfield Lane North - the entrance actually has the 'A40' label over it! The other 'visible' access routes don't actually get you near the football ground - unless you are good at scaling walls - probably not very advisable in that bit of W.London - trekking across cricket pitches etc etc.

 

....and don't try and go by what is on 'TheFA.com/Grassroots/' - the postcode/street map it gives for Avenue Pk is about 1/2 mile further east past the A4127 Greenford intersection.

Isn't this something you should have sorted out by now, I also bet that you won't be able to use Reynolds Field for any friendlies and will be looking to play away hoping that Club's who approach you have ground availability.

Anyone in on the latest 'rumble' from RMFC/SSML officialdom - apparently the Club Sec. is stating the name change HAS been approved and they will now be known as "Tokyngton Manor FC" for season 08/09.

 

Their own board/forum seems equally confusing since they confirmed only a couple of days ago that they wouldn't be using the "Tokyngton" bit until NEXT season.

 

....ho hum!

It's quite straightforward - the new regime want to be called Tokyngton Manor FC, and the SSMFL will be happy with that when the Middlesex FA have approved the change. I understand that they now have approved the new name. All depends on whether the handbook's been printed I guess! Seems to me that all that's left of Ruislip Manor is it's place in the SSMFL.

Is it not about time that whoever runs this website updated some of it i.e. provided details of where you now play, corrected your management/committee details etc etc. I'm sure that Mickey Johnson ceased being manager last March/April time, and Knightman has said that he is no longer officially involved.

 

Anyone visiting your site would be very confused were they to read the forum section in conjunction with your home page etc etc.

 

Is this an official website for RMFC? If it is then it would be nice to have some information from whoever runs the club appearing on the site.

 

People said that the previous administration were backward in communicating. The same seemingly can be said of the new regime.
