Horsham FC - Planning Permission Failure

Recommended Posts

On 1st July Horsham FC's plans for a stadium at their new site were thrown out by the local council. Here is a link to the story.

The place they want to build is a few hundred yards from my house. It already contains a Sports club with football pitches and a sports hall, and is an ideal place for it to be built.

HR, Horsham FC have quoted: ''Shortcomings in our application prepared by so called proffessionals''

Due to us using people who have had previous experience of new ground applications etc and all of the political parties being involved from day one and agreeing in principle to the plans that have been drawn up I would hope that there is no similarity to us.

I'm not sure who their "So called professionals" are, but looking at their plans, they did seem to be very detailed.

When the local paper comes out, and further information is available, I'll pass it on. The more information we get from other clubs attempts the better we can be armed for ours.

As you said, RR, hopefully our submission will not have the same issues. Especially with the change of council personnel and leadership in Slough.

by some accounts relayed to me by some slough councillors when questioned on the subject of the new ground a certain former council leader used to change the subject when ever it was brought up in meetings, no names no pack drill comprende. just hope horsham can get something sorted out

I would, of course, be happy to meet Horsham Rebel, or indeed anyone else from STFC, to review what, if any, lessons can be learnt from our recent-and not so recent, experiences. Despite the apparent similarities, there are very significant differences between the situations in which the two clubs find themselves. The principal task we face is to get the right balance between seeking to progress on the field while at the same time both investing and trying to protect the proceeds of the sale of our ground.
