What a great result for Clacton! Step 6 comprehensively beats step 5. They'll be on a roll when they visit us.

Hi all Clacton fan here. We are really looking forward to our visit in a couple of weeks. Today we we beat Stansted 4-0 and totaly deserved the win. Billericay will be hard though as you are 3 steps above us. But this is what the cup is all about, we'll have a great day out as long as we can have a couple of pints and a game of pool!

Hi Harvs,

Congratulations on yesterdays win; and the previous rounds. You may be aware that we had a little hic-up against st Margarettsbury a couple of season back smile

I'm looking forward to the FA Cup getting started for us. It gave us a lot of entertainment value last season, & hopefully will do again this time.

Despite what Urchin Mentalist says ( evil ) you'll find New Lodge a welcoming place.

we had some when we visited Barkingside a couple of seasons ago. Hopefully they still ok for a while!

What sort of crowd do you expect for this game, although not a big game for you, it is for us!
A few of us loud and barmy clacton fans will be making the trip.

Decent pubs with a pool table !?! They take the pool tables out of pubs here (stops the sticks being used as human caning faciltators)

Plenty of decent boozers in High Street though. A list below

The Railway - Give it a miss unless you feel the need to become an alcoholic !

The Crown - Well...'err...it is the home pub, so, err best avoided

Stewarts - Well...'err...it is another home bar,so, again best avoided

The Blue Boar - Well, the home mob made this Wetherspoon place have the word Blue in it and has become the away pub. But like any Wetherspoons, best avoided !

The Chequers - Great looking place, but tends to be frequented by the local bikers, so 'err, best avoided.

The Red Lion - Well, another great looking place, but they have banned football fans after some away fans and locals collided at the bar couple of years back...so, yep you guessed it Harvs....Best avoided.

There is another place just off the high street called The Coach and Horses...But 'err little Nige drinks in there so 'err best avoided.

Now then....moving on you come to The White Hart...hmm, Saturday afternoons tends to be ....'err best avoided.

The Rising Sun - Leave well alone unless you want to get the drunken wedding parties fighting it out before they go to the church down the road ! Defo best avoided...

So, it really only leaves ya with the bar at the ground...

Hope the above info helps ya wink

Greetings,

You have 3 boozers with pool tables in you have The Crown and The Railway both have decent juke boxes (station end) of high street other end is The Rising Sun no music.

Best place for a beer would be The Chequers or The Red Lion both in middle of high street.

ps The Blue Boar opens at 9am if your having a proper session.

Have a good trip .
