Blues add three to squad ........

Pleased for Jason, very pacey, he scared the life out of Ramsgate last season in a reserve game when they were playing some of their first team squad.

Alan will be a good addition, reads game well, a good header of ball and has same potential as Louis Smith IMO.

Chris I know nothing about except probably a great prospect and we are signing him for the future I guess?

So Rob wrong as usual, only one right according to his thread!

And Moir. None of them currently signed by the club.

I think the reason others though those 3 were because Ashby mentioned them in an interview I believe as wanting them to sign?

I similarly know nothing at all about Chris parish-but he must be pretty good if he is ahead of Wheatley in the 'pecking order'.

I would have thought that wheatley was definately one whose signature needed to be 'secured'

SCS

Still time-just !!

However-good coaching and organisation can overcome alot of adversity.

We certainly will have quantity when it comes to coaching next season-will be have quality of coaching though ?

I would not mind betting that whatever team we put out- we actually concede fewer goals next season than last-but next season will struggle to score

I don't think having 2 wingers as strikers will score us goals somehow

It is beyond belief that the club can hope to sustain membership of the Ryman Premier with its current thinking. No amount of optimism can disguise the ultimate result of the club's strategic plan which will end up playing in the Ryman South followed by the Kent League. The reserves are the level of the Kent County League and perhaps with a few experienced additions will amount to a Kent League side. But perhaps the club's income is being directed away from the playing side.

Ultimately as performances on the field deteriorate so will the attendances and the club's income. Then there will be no need to develop the ground will there?

We have 18 players by end of june so at least we have a foundation.

Still 6 weeks to go ,for BA to get some quality in ,'supported' by the potential and energy of Barry's Blue Babes'

Plus-the big bonus is that these younger guys are on contract;so if a few do 'make it'-at least MFC will benefit.

I remain optimistic (just about) that things are 'ever improving'

with idiots like you not supporting and believing in the players of course we will get relegated. Luckily 8 out of 10 supporters, believe that we will do better then what most outsiders expect of us.

In the words of Corporal Jones ....

Don't Panic !!

At his introduction Mr Ashby told us that he'd give the signings a chance at the new level, try to ship some off on loan and sign some experienced loanees to supplement the squad. If we do this we'll finish lower mid-table.

Though I have to agree with SSS & Zhukov - playing all season with just those signed to date will see us facing almost certain relegation (and a big struggle - like Dover experienced - before we get back up).

The players signed certainly have potential, but they have to learn to walk before they can run. They will need time to develop from Kent League 2 to Ryman Premier - lots of time ... these things can't be rushed.

We just have to except that what we`ve got is what we`ve got. BA might get lucky and manage to sign a couple of good players or talk some into getting "one more season" out of tired legs.

It has been clear for several years that MFCs income falls short of it`s out-goings and has been getting by on charity from a few good men. Once youth fads and football becomes a job, like everyone, it`s money that makes it worthwhile so MFCs shopping list is very short.

zhukov point is valid, the bottom line is we do not know what the thinking is of those who have the say. For me any football at HDP is better than none, 15 years ago reminds us of that. Whilst the cold light of day might be suggesting one thing, hope and a belief that OUR TEAM can keep the dream alive should be the thinking. One thing is for sure, come August we will have a group of player who will give it their all and for that I say, Come on the Blues.

Unfortuneately we have the equivalent of a non league team playing in the Premiership at the moment and I agree with the realists-we will struggle. I'm expecting a disaster next season as things stand but will hold judgement until Ashby has his full squad but I won't hold my breath. Most decent experienced players are signed up by now so what are we gonna be left with?

Am I an idiot for not believing? We'll return to this thread and see who was right-SSS or Alex but I'm in the not too hopeful but will support anyway camp. And the stadium saga doesn't inspire confidence, we'll soon be overtaken by Ashford Town.
