Did anyone ever do anything about a stall at the Big Day Out Event over this coming weekend/ joining the Northfleet Carnival? I see Charlton Athletic are mentioned in the list of activities for the kids on the Gravesham website. Would have been good to have some leaflets/ fixture lists to hand out if nothing else (although the fixtures have probably come out to late to easily provide fixture lists anyway)

A number of us wanted to do something for this weekend, but there were just not enough people ( Local & Away ) who wanted to get involved.

Was there ever a request for 'local' (ie non-MyFC) help?

 

I think the problem with "getting involved" is that some people might be willing to help, if they knew what they were signing up for! The last thing anyone would want is to say 'yes', and then to be told they are doing something they do not want to do, and then having to pull out.

 

Might be an idea that, for future events, the request for help is more specific... ie, we need x people to set up the stall, another x to run it in the morning, x to wander around handing flyers, etc etc.

Also, if we need to produce fixture lists etc to hand out, it would be better for 10 people to produce 100, than rely on one person to produce 1000. Harder to co-ordinate, but more likely to get a response...

Agree YF - but the 'local, non-MyFC' members have for years given up time to help when asked... I just didn't think there was a need to include that statement.

 

Remember as 'owners' of the club, the organisation of this kinda thing becomes your responsibility. MyFC will take credit for all the good work they have done, but will also have to learn to take the blame for [****!!****]-ups like this as well.
