FA Cup & Trophy draws

I was just having a think about our cup runs since the Walsall season and they really haven't been very good!

Out at the first hurdle against Wroxham, then Farnborough Town after stumbling past Cobham, and last season's shambles against Fleet. I think we've also gone out of the Trophy at the first hurdle in the last three seasons.

So yes, a nice run would be very welcome!

Well, we won the Bryco cup, got to the 2nd round proper of the FA Cup and did pretty well in the FA Trophy a small matter of three seasons back (04/05) - while it would be nice to put together a cup run and pick up a few quid, I'd have thought our priority this season must be to bounce back from two dismal league campaigns which lest we forget has seen us:

Lose 60 of the 84 league games played

Conceded 210 goals

Had a combined goal difference of -140

Been relegated twice (reprieved once)

well absolutely KT our league form has been awful so therefore also so has been our cup form

this coming season we look to be in a position to easily improve on our poor cup form. if we dont then we dont as you say improving the league form is much more important at this stage

We always draw Farnborough in a cup competition of late!

Abingdon's difficult to call. They seemed to throw money at it the start of last season and did well, but when realised they could not get promotion they cut back on their star players it seems

I agree on Abingdon, they beat us convincingly in the first match of last year and then we did the same to them at home, so that one could go either way. Farnborough is probably one of the worst draws we could have had because they are a strong team on the up at the moment.

If we have a stronger team than last year we might be able to beat either Paulton or Thatcham because neither of them were great teams last year.

Paulton narrowly missed out on the playoffs last year and I imagine they'll be a top half team in the league again this season.

Thatcham have a new manager and lots of new players so are difficult to call at the moment
