Completely agree Frankie, it was what a lot of people said on this forum last season that they wanted to see passion, I know we will see loads with the players we have.

Whilst my views on RT are probably not printable,in fairness, i do not think there was a lack of passion in the side.

I don't think many would say that Dean was'nt passionate in particular-but we maligned him for it (rightly as he did take it to excess ).Rob was passionate,McKimm was passionate,JJ wanted to stay.It was not a lack of passion-just a lack of leadership

I am sure the players wanted to win every match, and tried to win every match.

I think the passion thing is overdone.

In my opinion it came down more to a lack of ability, and particularly, a lack of organisation.

Its easy to look passionate when winning, and look downbeat when losing ;and in all honesty, i can't see that changing much this season.

Its no different watching a game.

I do not shout and scream during a game-i concentrate on the game.

That does not mean i am more or less passionate than the guy who is shouting.

Its the same with players. They probably hurt like hell inside-and sometimes to show to much passion wastes energy.

In a nutshell-how do we tell if someone is passionate ?

Yes he played for us (Reserves) and Dover Reserves a few seasons ago Mike. Ran under 18's for a while too. Used to be with Generation Sports too. A midfielder, good tackler, about 28 ish?

There are some players who do the old fist-pumping routine on the pitch just to court popularity. In reality they may not be any more 'passionate' than less demonstrative players. The same goes for managers. Fans like to see a manager jumping up and down on the touchline - even if he is shouting nonsense. I sometimes get the feeling some fans would rather have Barry Fry in charge than Arsene Wenger.

Tom's 2 years younger than me so that makes him 26. Very passionate about his football and is a hard in a tackle. I'm also over the moon at Alan Heath being signed. The best of luck to him.

When did Wellsie do the interview ?

I wonder whether R Butler is right about Heath and Pratt signing-no mention in wellsies interview of that ?

Is it confirmed that Heath has signed ?

If Heath and Pratt have signed-thats 18 players 'already' in my reckoning- 'never mind the quality, see the potential'

Today at 10.50 to be precise.

As Barry said, the club are continuting to talk to players but he is (understandably) NOT confirming who those players are at this stage.

He also said that he expects more signings to be announced next week. Of course that might change but we are trying to bring you guys (not just you MM ;o) ) up to date news but a lot of it at this stage of the year is "possible, soon, hopefully" type stuff.

I can though confirm that Butler is wrong.

Unless my tracking is completely up the swanny, here are the confirmed signings so far:

Paul Axon

Scott Chalmers-Stevens

Sam Cliff

Luke Coleman

Ryan Harker

Tom Hickman

Alex Krunic

Chris Lewis

Elliot Payne

Ryan Peters

Aaron Quain

Curtis Robinson

Louis Smith

Paul Smith

Daryn Vanhinsbergh

He has more heart than skill that is for sure, some of his tackling will have you wincing, he kicked lumps off of Calais in a "friendly" over there a couple of seasons ago. Very committed and will give 100% evry game.

I read this from www.yourthanet.co.uk -as per Wellsies article -excepting the headline grabbing-'Big signing' part

Hickman signs for Blues

Tom Hickman (in white) has signed from Faversham Town MARGATE have made their first big signing of the summer with the acquisition of Faversham Town captain Tom Hickman.

I guess 'big signing' is a comparative thing !!

Makes some sense though if TH has previously been involved in developing alot of these younger players
