To be quite honest, TSF, I'm not really concerned about dates and the like. At my age I do enough living in the past, so it's the future wot really interests me !

without getting too philosophical , this is about the past the present and the future. More importantly its about honesty and integrity.

 

Dorking Fc was formed in 1880, but its not by any definition or criteria I can think of the second oldest club in Surrey.

 

Why keep saying it as a club?

 

Why not say

"Dorking fc originally formed 1880.

The Chicks, Surrey's oldest senior football club"?

 

Its a better claim to fame , and its more provable.

but the club just changed its website homepage a day or so back and put that on there, why tell porkies on the front page of your website, its daft!

 

its not as if the club dont know they about it, bjr has been kind enough to pass on messages to and fro on here.

 

If the club didnt insist on making a big thing of it, then neither would I!

no bjr, i accept you dont, but the club know of the issues surrounding the second oldest claim and still havent clarified it.

 

we all know that a lot of football folk in town distrust the board and think they spin everything to suit themselves, and it stops some of them getting involved, helping, or even watching.

 

heres an opportunity to put the record straight on one particular claim.

 

the club can change it or clarify it. it cant keep saying it and be believed.
