I will be fascinated to know who you are, Bilbo (either when you tell us or Gavin works it out). Must admit, I never thought you were a player. Seems like Gavin upset some of you more than he expected!

I can understand a lot of Gavin's annoyance at events. For example, I found his (and others) singing good for the atmosphere on the few occasions I've been able to get to Edgware games recently. Its a shame that it seemed to annoy those in charge of the club so much. Newing, Deanus and the players seemed to genuinely be happy with the vocal support until recently, when Gavin lost the plot by insulting them all (which led to his second ban).

Unfortunately Gavin shot himself in the foot then, and even more so when he went off on one at all his fellow supporters on the Edgware forum including his old mates like Bramley and PJ. They were none too impressed by one rant in particular, and it is difficult to imagine them getting behind him now.

That said, I can understand again Gavin's frustrations at everyone's lack of action. He just needs to really learn to curb his anger (and typing!) at times. I will be interested in supporting (when I can) a new Edgware club, although I would rather hope it plays as close to the town as possible.

You obviously were not at the game against Wingate & Finchley when he sang abusive songs at a bunch of 12 year old kids. He wound up the fans of one club so much that when they spotted him and his mate walking down the road, they jumped off their coach and chased him back into the ground. It was the language he used in his songs that upset the Management,Players and Fans, especially when officials of the league were at the ground.

Actually I was at the Wingate & Finchley v Edgware match, assuming the one you're meaning was just before Christmas. It was the only Edgware away match I have seen in a lot of years.

Two things about that game:

1. It was an awful performance by the team against 9 men for virtually the whole second half. You were very fortunate to win the game, and Gavin was very reasonable in what he said and sang during and after the game (he wasn't reasonable some weeks later when he slagged the team off in an outrageous way on any and every fans forum). Fortunately I witnessed a much better performance at home to Ware a few weeks later.

2. Gavin reacted to some secondary school age kids who went over to him and his mates with the express purpose of winding them up(and to stop them giving Edgware verbal support). What they said to him was worse than what he replied with from what I heard with my own ears (although I wasn't in the vicinity for the whole of the exchange). Gavin was stupid to rise to the bait and should have pretended the kids weren't there. None of his mates responded to the kids, so nor should he. That sums him up, I suppose. Bit of a short fuse, but on that occasion he was victim rather than aggressor.

Regarding the swearing in Gavin's (and others) songs, I agree with you. I didn't like hearing it, and thought Paul Gregory was right to take him up on it. From what I heard, he, Bramley et al. toned it down after that. So fair's fair!!!

a lot of posts have been rightly deleted.

it is not my intention to post the lurid details of the currently sleeping ETFC but for anyone that would like an insight into the way the club was financially managed and who actually ran it then it is freely available on several company sites under The Edgware Town Football Club Limited last accounts filed in April 2008.

It is also not my intention to enter into any more debates with people on this forum who have attacked gavin when clearly he was correct in his views all along and I have aplogised to him...his methods may be questionable and somewhat crudely typed which served his cause no good but the accounts filed and the information contained within those accounts tell their own story and go someway towards justifying his anger and frustrations.....

today a new edgware town football club has been formed and will apply for membership of the fa and a league at step 7 within the next few months...starting season 09/10..I believe that a new spokesperson has been appointed for the new entity and they will no doubt post what they feel to be fit and proper updates for those decent NL people interested in ET playing football again..I had previously stated that I would arrange the finances if they managed step 6... I have now agreed to arrange the finances at step 7 for one year.

The talking is over...the walk must now be walked...

they are my last forum words on this subject...smile

Classic case of misdirection Unc, lets put the record straight.

Last accounts were filled on 30/06/2007. The Company Return was posted 10/03/2008 on the anniversary of incorporation as required by law. Next account will be filed up to and including 30/06/2008 as given in Paul

Having read the information at Companies house, I doubt very much that the near half a million debt currently sitting in Edgware Town Football Club Limited and the previous insolvency in 2002 (CVA) are fabrications by UU. Unless of course he can hack into the Companies House Website.!!

As I said this information has always been available and was fully disclosed to the FA in their financial review of the club last year. The CVA was left by Mr Rosier and was fully discharged. Now perhaps Gavin, Rhodes and UU will give us their plan of how they were going to save the club?

The information may have been disclosed to the FA but quite clearly was hidden from view on here as you set about undermining the attempts to save a football club that you had closed with massive debts. Reading the post above from UU, it looks like the new ET team now have no intention of saving a football club with half a million pounds worth of debt on its balance sheet so your question is hardly worthy of reply.
